Kids Easter Craft #1: Cotton Ball Eggs Hiding in Grass

This is such and easy Easter craft for a child, it could even work well with a preschooler as long as there is parent assistance. Start with a light blue sheet of construction paper, any size paper will work. Have child lightly paint glue on the entire bottom 1/3 of the construction paper, then using plastic grass or paper grass have your child press the grass onto the glue area so the grass holds securely. Next, use a glue bottle and dab drops of glue on pastel colored cotton balls and white cotton balls, have your child press the cotton balls into the grass wherever they would like to hide the "eggs." This fun and easy Easter craft for kids looks so cute when it is completed. As an extension, I have had kids add Easter related stickers such as bunnies and chicks, I have also had children draw clouds in the sky depending on how detailed the child felt like being, the age of the child will also depend on the extent of the details.

Kids Easter Craft #2: Paper Mache Egg

This Easter craft for kids is easy to make but is better suited for an older child, preschool children would have difficulty with this craft. Blow a balloon up and tie off the end, paint the entire balloon with liquid starch. Then using a variety of colors of tissue paper that is torn into 5 inch squares, cover the entire balloon with multiple layers of tissue paper and go over the tissue paper with liquid starch. Apply narrow strips of newspaper over the tissue paper so that the tissue paper is completed covered with the newspaper, go over the newspaper with liquid starch. Again, add a variety of colors of tissue paper that are torn into 5 inch squares on top of the newspaper so the newspaper is completely covered, go over the tissue paper with liquid starch. Allow the paper and liquid to completely dry until it is hard. Once everything is hardened, an adult should take a sharp scissors and cut a hole into the paper mache egg, the hole should be large enough so that plastic grass and any Easter related items can be placed inside the paper mache egg.

Kids Easter Craft #3: Crazy Paint Egg Placemat

Place a sheet of construction paper, a size that would be good for a dinner placemat in the bottom of a box. Pour a pastel color of paint on to the construction paper, place a hard boiled egg into the box and tilt the box around so the egg moves the paint in a variety of directions. Add additional colors of pastel paint and allow the egg to move the paint around in a non-discriminate manner. Once the paper is dry, apply contact paper over the construction paper so that the entire sheet of paper is covered and a unique Easter placemat is made.

These fun and easy Easter crafts for kids will keep children busy and fill their need for creative expression. Making kids Easter crafts has never been so fun especially when kids work on crafts that are simple and do not require a lot of materials.
