Which of the sports is best suited for a fantasy league? Here are the top three fantasy baseball sports.
1. Fantasy Baseball- Major League Baseball is definitely down right now as the steroid era has left a major mark on the game, however that doesn't affect the competition in fantasy baseball leagues. I strongly believe that because of the length of the season and the moves that need to be made throughout the entire length of a 162 game schedule, serious fantasy sports owners are still best suited playing some fantasy baseball. Fantasy baseball is great for rotisserie stats in all the major categories for both hitters and pitchers, which can make for a better and more entertaining league than straight up head to head match ups.
2. Fantasy Football- No doubt the National Football League is the hottest league of all of them as far as interest right now, but this one belongs one notch below fantasy baseball. Fantasy football has gained a whole lot of steam in the last few years, but it still has the major drawback of only 17 weeks of the regular season. The major positives include the ability to find quite a few late round steals and the ability to watch all the games without any major issues because of the short schedule.
3. Fantasy Basketball- Fantasy basketball also has the advantage of having the ability to have rotisserie scoring, which is helpful to the overall game and allows a manager the chance to come back later in the season. Basketball can be difficult to manage because injuries are not often disclosed until late in the day, which can make setting a daily roster very difficult. The game of fantasy basketball is a good one, but not quite at the top of the pack.
Honorable Mention: Fantasy Golf, Fantasy Auto Racing- Fantasy Golf would probably be the next on the list since it is very easy to play and can make the sport much more exciting. Fantasy auto racing is gaining speed quite quickly as well, as fans choose several drivers at each track and see how well informed they are.
Fantasy sports as a whole are as popular as ever, and there is no slowdown in site in their growth!
