The creation of YouTube.com and other websites like it changed the internet as we know it. Instead of waiting once a week to watch America's Funniest Videos on cable, we can find hilarious videos posted by every day people any time we want via the internet. With the release of such technology as camera phones, web-cams and very affordable video cameras, it seems that almost everyone these days can shoot a video and publish it online.

While there are literally thousands of videos uploaded each day to the net, only the best of the best become overnight sensations with thousands, and sometimes even millions, of hits in a very short period of time. When a video becomes popular so quickly, it is known as a "viral video". Here are the top 3 of the most favorite viral internet videos of all time.

1. Numa Numa -

This video quickly gained worldwide exposure after being posted in 2004. Gary Brolsma (aka Numa Numa Guy) posted this webcam video of himself lip-syncing and dancing to the song "Dragostea din tei" by the Romanian band O-Zone. The video quickly became viral and has since been watched by millions of people and even inspired a parody performance on the popular cartoon, South Park.

2. Baby Dancing To Beyonce-

Cashing in on the "cute factor", this video seemed to inspire almost every baby in the world to get their groove on and dance. The video not only became a huge viral sensation, but was picked up virtually overnight by what seemed to be every media outlet on television. The video popularized the terms, "single babies" and "stanky leg", and has become one of the most watched videos ever uploaded to the internet.

3. Charlie Schmidt's Keyboard Cat-

When this video debuted in 2007 it became an instant hit. To this day, you could probably find some channel on television that is incorporating this video into its programming somewhere.

Interestingly, this video was not shot with modern equipment. It is actually footage that Mr. Schmidt shot of his (now deceased) cat, Fatso, way back in 1984. Since its almost instant viral release, this video has been consistently ranked as one of the internets greatest viral videos of all time.
