Top 3 Food Network Chefs

By Far, Paula Dean is the Greatest

Malina Debrie
If you don't have time to stay tuned to the Food Network 24/7, make sure you record or watch these three chefs and their shows. Not only are they lively and entertaining, their recipes are absolutely great.

Do you wonder sometimes why your recipe, prepared exactly as shown on a cooking show does not taste right? How about those times when you know for sure, without a doubt that you followed the directions precisely and purchased the same items, yet the meal just was not that good? I discussed the problem with my sister who is a hospital nutritionist. She stated sometimes the chef either leaves out an ingredient or information vital for the recipe to be a success. Then, she stated, sometimes they just do not add enough seasonings. The proper seasoning , in just the correct amount can change a dish from a dud or disaster to magnificent.
.
When you cook, often the one ingredient that makes the dish a masterpiece is the seasoning or salt. Yet at times salt is not used or the chef sprinkles a few granules on the dish or meat and moves on. You know something else must be used to enhance the flavor.

When I first began watching the food channels and all the cooks, I really wondered how some of these people were considered great chefs/cooks. Then I realized, cooking is a personal thing. As you work with your food and acquire more experience and knowledge in the skill, your food begins to take on more flavor. It becomes more satisfying and you breeze through a meal in minutes. Until you gain that personal touch and learn to put 'love' into your meal, you might end up with a lot of food sent down the garbage disposal. Why not get a handle on meal preparation by watching the the meal preparation techniques of these three amazing Food Network Chefs.

Paula Deen

With that naturally charming southern drawl and an absolutely gorgeous smile, Paula is the epitome of charm. She makes no bones about her cooking and will quickly tell anyone asking if you want fat free, low calorie meals, she is not the one. Being that she was a single parent with two sons to raise, Paula relied on her expertise in meal planning and cooking to take her through those years when her sons needs were the only priority she had. That need made her the exceptional cook she is today. She took the skills she acquired from a loving grandmother and made her cooking the exceptional fare she serves. Her restaurants have thousands visiting yearly looking for the great southern dishes she is known to prepare. Paula is simply adorable. Watching her cook is always an adventure and her meals, recipes and cooking tips are right on mark. Watch Paula on The Food Network. You may even want to purchase a few pieces or all of her new line of cookware. Emeril Lagasse

With one word 'Bamm' and a unique way of making food smell like something you wanted to just indulge in for a lifetime, Emeril Lagasse came on the scene like dynamite. There is no one in the nation today who has not seen, heard or know the name Emeril. He is now hosting not one, not two, but over five television shows all rating in first place. His story of success is like one of those that movies are made of. He began his culinary career working in a small Portuguese bakery in his neighborhood. From there, he has amassed a food empire. He is the host of the new television series 'Emeril Planet Green.' If you need to know what the numerous new veggies in your local grocery produce department are, how to prepare exciting dishes or the nutritional value of your food, check out ' Emeril Planet Green.'

The Barefoot Contessa: Ina Garten

With a quiet demur persona, Ina Garten prepares meals that are sheer elegance. She walks into an immaculate kitchen that seems to have everything a cook would need or want. In her place of solace, Ina has amassed all kinds of gizmos and gadgets, not those we see on the infomercials nightly, but gadgets similar to the ones we saw our parents and their parents using. Growing on counters or on the window sills of Ina's kitchen are fresh herbs. Ina seems to make even chicken salad elegant. Ina decided while sitting in a meeting in the White House discussing nuclear energy policys that life had to be about more than just a series of boring meetings. From that moment, she and her husband, Jeffrey, began looking and finally purchased the place of their dreams and her show's namesake 'The Barefoot Contessa.' 'The Barefoot Contessa' is a small store located towards the end of Long Island in the Hamptons. Ina's dishes are fabulous. The recipes are exact and with the right tools, you can be an Ina Garten cook. Watch as Ina prepares one of Jeffrey's favorite dishes 'Perfect Roast Chicken.'
