Top 3 Important Things You Might Forget to Pack for College

S. Whithers
Packing for college can be a hectic experience and forgetting to pack some things is common. Some items that you forget can easily be purchased once you arrive at your university of choice, others are more important and harder to get. Other times you simply are too busy with school to go out and buy the item by the time you notice it missing. Be sure to not forget to add these 3 important items to your college packing list!

1. Printer Cable
While all non-wireless printers require a USB cable to connect your printer to your computer, no printer usually comes with a USB cable. Though they are easy to buy, printer cables are easily forgotten and you may not notice a printer cable's absence until you are working on homework and you are too busy to go shopping. Don't end up an hour before your deadline realizing that you have no way to connect your printer to your computer to print out your essay.

2. Camera
There will be many new, exciting adventures you'll be having at college that you will want to remember forever and taking photos is a great way to do so. However, if when you do want to take one such photo you find that you've left your $200 camera 1500 miles away on your dresser at your parent's house, you probably won't want to drive to the nearest electronics store to buy another expensive camera. Cameras, being small and not always often used, can be easy to forget amongst clothes, computer equipment, and sheets, but they shouldn't be left behind.

3. Winter Clothes or Summer Clothes
When you are moving a long distance and changing climates it can be very easy to underestimate the heat or cold that your new environment will have. Whether you are moving from the chilly northeast to the hot and sticky southeast or from sunny California to the Midwest, you should pack for the temperatures you will be moving to, not the temperatures you are leaving. Always pack clothes one step colder and warmer than you think you should. You'll be happy for the decision when you are trekking through the snow or trapped in a dorm with no air conditioning in hot August weather.
