With St. Patrick's Day around the corner the best way to celebrate is with some good Irish food, good Irish music, and good Irish drinks. These three pubs are the best for craic(fun) with friends and family. Slàinte!

Owl and Thistle

A quaint pub located in Pioneer Square and off the beaten track, the Owl and Thistle has been a favorite Irish Pub for many in the South Sound area. Here are a few of their menu items:

Irish Pub Salad: Fresh Romaine lettuce tossed in our own Creamy Tarragon dressing with tomatoes, garbanzo beans and crisp green cabbage, all topped with a thin sliced hard-boiled egg.

O n'T Steak Sandwich: Tasty thin-cut steak with grilled onions & peppers and melted Monterrey Jack cheese on a fresh grilled baguette. Our own faux Philly.

Shepherd's Pie: Ground beef and lamb with vegetables, fresh herbs and beef gravy baked under a mashed-potato crust. Served with fresh baked brown soda bread.

Guinness Beef Stew: Tender chunks of beef simmered with carrots, onions, fresh rosemary and potatoes in a rich beef stock with a wee hint O'Guinness Stout. Served with our brown soda bread.

Irish Stuffed Chicken Breast: Boneless chicken breast filled with a mix of mashed potatoes, spices, and sautéed mushrooms and onions. Baked in a wrap of bacon with a splash of Irish liqueur. Served with grilled tomatoes and soup or side salad.

Colecannon: A simple and savory mix of mashed potatoes, cabbage and cheddar cheese, baked golden brown. Served with a side salad.

Fadò

One of the best and most authentic Irish Pubs in Seattle, Fadò is the best place in Seattle for some "craic"-fun. With live music and great food this is one of the best Irish restaurants in Seattle. Here are a few of their menu items:

Guinness BBQ Wings:A dozen extra plump wings tossed in our own Guinness BBQ sauce. Served with blue cheese and celery. Also available tossed in hot sauce.*Half dozen also available.

Guinness BBQ Chicken Sandwich: Grilled chicken breast basted with Guinness BBQ sauce and topped with bacon, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion. Served on a kaiser roll.

Smoked Turkey RLT: Sliced turkey, rashers (Irish Bacon), lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo served on a toasted baguette.

Homemade Shepherd's Pie: Ground sirloin and diced vegetables in a rich beef sauce, topped with colcannon.

Corned Beef and Cabbage: Tender corned beef topped with a creamy white wine-mustard sauce. Served with red-potatoes and buttered cabbage.

Bangers and Mash: Irish pork sausages on colcannon with a savory onion gravy and peas.
