In 2010, the John Calvin Brewer Band quickly became Hot Springs' top Classic Rock/Blues band. After performing in various venues around town including Odie's House of Blues, Lucky's and Capone's Ohio Club, engaged listeners were eager to learn and hear more from this extraordinary band. Performing several original and cover tracks, listeners were amazed to see the incredible talent from the band as each musician gave their own electrifying performances. Lead singer and Guitarist John Calvin Brewer showcased his unique talents on his guitar, purely amplifying the Rock influences in the band's music. Meanwhile, Bassist Shannon Sabbatini and Drummer Steve Avary provided the sensational sounds which emphasized the Rhythmic grooves behind the instrumentals of the music. In September 2010, the John Calvin Brewer Band performed in the 14th Annual Hot Springs Blues Festival, playing in front of a massive audience composed of tourists and local residents. With a diverse set-list including Original up-tempo tracks such as "Memphis" and "Sojo Mexico" and cover tunes by Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Doors, and Ray Charles, the John Calvin Brewer Band remain to be a top Entertaining Musical Act of 2010. In 2011, the Spa City Blues Society will sponsor the John Calvin Brewer Band in February at the International Blues Competition held in Memphis Tennessee.
ROCK SOLID BAND
In 2010, this legendary Rock/Southern Rock/Blues Band gained several notable mentions by performing in several memorable gigs throughout the year. Performing popular cover tunes from artists such as The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, and Santana the Rock Solid Band perform a diverse set with singer Annie and Bob Benoit harmonizing on lead vocals. The Rock Solid Band secured a year-long stint by performing every Friday and Saturday at Oaklawn Racing & Gaming in the bar/lounge area called "Pop's Lounge". Two months later, the Rock Solid Band scored a memorable gig opening for the legendary Country music singer Charlie Daniels at the 2010 Legend's Balloon Rally.
BOW LEGGED ROOSTER
Hailing from Jonesboro, Arkansas natives Bow Legged Rooster amazed listeners with their unique sounds around the Hot Springs area in 2010. Throughout the year, lead Guitarist/Vocalist Matt Pierce gained listeners' attention with his powerful voice and unique rhythmic styles on his Guitar. Pierce was able to lend his Guitar riffs to a few of Brother-in-law Jimbo Mathis' studio albums. While Pierce has been a major contributer towards Bow Legged Rooster, Vocalist/Harmonica player Tim Hoggard has continued to captivate fans with his humorous personality and Blues/Soul-inspired vocals. With a resemblance to Blues Traveler's lead singer John Popper, Vocalist Tim Hoggard delivers sensational power chords through his voice and Harmonica. Pierce, Hoggard, and the other members of the Blues band have gained listeners' hearts while frequenting several venues throughout the Hot Springs area including Odie's House of Blues. In September of 2010, Bow Legged Rooster performed at the 14th annual Hot Springs Blues Festival while continuing to showcase their incredible talent.
