Make Sure You Don't Make Any of These Errors that Can Kill Your Weight Loss Efforts

Everyone seems to think it's out there. That next diet plan or weight loss method that's going to be the one to get you to finally lose all that extra weight. Marketing and advertising people are constantly creating new and better ways to lose weight. And they make it look so easy, don't they?

Well, losing weight is pretty simple, but it may not be so easy for some folks. Successful weight loss involves, a plan, commitment, perseverance, and a will of iron. Once you have all that, the rest is just putting it all together. So, with that in mind, here are a few of the top mistakes that will almost guarantee failure in losing weight.

Eat Cheese, Drink Milk, Lose Weight

Yes, that is correct. Research shows that the body's metabolism runs faster and more efficiently when the right amount of calcium is taken in through dairy foods like cheese, milk, ice cream, and yogurt. Calcium supplements did not produce the same results so researchers think there may be other substances in the dairy products.

Now don't go crazy and dive into a tub of your favorite Rocky Road. As with most things, common sense must dictate the limits of your dairy intake. The idea is weight loss, not weight gain, so be sure and consume low-fat varieties of milk, cheese, and yogurt. And ice cream, do we really need to go there? Make it non-fat.

Drink Lots of Water to Lose Weight

This is probably the easiest thing to do when trying to lose weight, but most people make the mistake of not getting enough water in their system. Water helps to flush out the impurities and toxins that are in the body. These impurities may be blocking the body's natural process of digestion.

A well-hydrated body allows for the proper and most efficient functioning of the body. These processes are associated with the metabolism which is boosted and runs faster when you drink plenty of water. A faster metabolism means more calories are burned as fuel and more weight is lost. One of the keys to weight loss is to drink lots of water.

Dump the Daily Weigh-in as Part of Your Weight Loss Plan

Losing weight is going to be stressful enough as it is, so why would you want to add any additional stress? Stepping on that scale every morning is not the best way to get encouraged about how much weight you are losing. A better way is to weigh-in about once a week and keep a weight loss log. Nothing is prettier than that weight loss line curving down.

Weight loss is the hardest simple thing anyone can do. It won't take the brains of a NASA engineer, or the strength of Schwarzenegger. What it will take is a commitment to a long-term weight loss plan, a renewed attitude about food, and the willpower to make it all come together. Get those three things going for you, and you'll soon begin to see the weight loss happening on your body.
