Top 3 Places on the Internet to Find Baby Names

Erin Rivera
One of most exciting parts about finding out you are pregnant is picking out the perfect baby name! While some people may have had the perfect name picked out since childhood or they go with a traditional route where they name the baby after the father, some have a harder time finding just the right name. The internet is a great place full of resources to help moms' to be find the best name for their new baby! Here is a look at the three top places to look at the internet to find baby names.

1. http://www.nymbler.com/ is our first choice of great sites to find baby names. Nymbler prides itself on being a personal baby name assistant. What I like most about using this site is not only does it let you make a list of your favorite names you come across but it has a neat feature where you type in a name you like and it comes up with baby names similar to it that you might want to take into consideration. The search engine is easy to use and you can choose from looking at both boy and girl names or you can narrow it down to just one gender. You are also able to save your list and if there are names just do not like you can put them on your "block" list so it does not recommend them again. In addition to all the great features it comes with it also gives you the meanings of the names you like and shows you how popular they are and whey they were at their most popular. This is easily my most favorite site to use!

2. http://babynamesworld.parentsconnect.com/ is also a good place to look for baby names. You can start out by looking at the most popular names all the way back to 1880 to present time or you can use their search engine to find a name that is more appropriate for you. Another feature I really enjoy about this particular site is it allows you to look at names by origin. So if you are looking for the perfect Italian or Irish name this is a good site for you. This search engine also gives you the meanings of the names you like so if you are looking for a name with a special meaning this can help you out greatly. This site also features a list of "unique" names for those parents who want something special and different than what is normally heard these days.

3. http://babynamesearch.com/ is third on our list of places to find baby names. Like the sites above, this baby name site allows you to search for the meanings of names you already have on your list or if you want to a name that starts with a specific letter it will allow you to search this way. This site also allows for users to look by ethnic origin by providing links to baby name sites that specifically cater to those sorts of names. For example if you are looking at only using French names it will give you links to several different sites that only have these names. This site is a great go-between if you are not sure yet what you are looking for and you want a lot of resources to look at when you are picking out the name for your soon-to-be-here baby.
