Top 3 Places for a Romantic Evening in Abilene, Texas

Colleen Mitchell
When you have been married as long as I have taking time out to enjoy each others company is vital if you want to keep the romance alive. When my husband and I get the chance to have a romantic evening without the kids we head to one of three places in our small town of Abilene Texas.

Fuji's Japanese Steak House

This is my favorite restaurant for a romantic evening out in Abilene Texas. How can you beat freshly prepared food, great drinks, and great conversation? Even though you actually share a large table that surrounds the hibachi grill they seat you in private little parties so confidential conversation is still possible. If total privacy is your goal they have small intimate tables you can sit at and gaze into each others eyes to your hearts content.

You have your choice of one meat or two and the prices are very reasonable. I always get the steak and scallops while my husband prefers the steak and chicken. The "show" is entertaining and makes for a lighthearted start to a great meal. The atmosphere is very simple, but it isn't really why I love going there, the food and the show are!

Fuji's is located at 3110 S 27th St, Abilene, TX. Give them a call at (325) 695-9233 if you are n town!

Copper Creek

This is my second favorite restaurant for a romantic evening out in Abilene Texas. They have a great menu featuring appetizers like crab cakes and jumbo shrimp. Their entrees include several great seafood selections like my favorite horseradish salmon. You can get a fantastic steak with garlic mashed potatoes or even chicken cordon blue. I always get the six layer chocolate cake for dessert.

They are a bit pricey. Don't expect to get out of there for less than about $50 per person with drinks. Copper Creek is located at 4401 Loop 322, Abilene, TX. Give them a call at (325) 692-4424 if you are in town!

WingStop

This is my husband's favorite restaurant for a romantic evening out in Abilene Texas. My husband and I have a different idea of what constitutes "romance" and Wingstop is his idea of the perfect restaurant for a romantic evening! I must admit that the atmosphere is much better than most wing places that go the sports bar route. Those other places are too loud and rowdy for us. There are TV's at WingStop you can watch but I don't really go to a restaurant to watch TV. If there is an event on I would rather take the wings home than try to watch it at a restaurant. I like the fact that the TV is not as intrusive as other wing places.

The food is prepared to order in your choice of several awesome flavors. My favorite is the lemon pepper while my husband prefers the classic hot. We aren't beer drinkers, but beer is available in a bottle or on tap. The prices are reasonable and they have several family pack deals that make your dollar go further.

WingStop is located at 4102 Buffalo Gap Rd, Abilene, TX. Give them a call at (325) 692-9464 if you are in town!
