Top 3 Places to Take a First Date in Albuquerque, New Mexico

It is About the Company You Keep

Kitty Stevens
When you take a person out on that first date you have to realize that it is the company that you keep that matters most. If you have a great person to take out then no matter where you go you will have a blast. Remember to ask your date where they would like to go. Chances are that if their destination of choice would not be yours', then it is not a good idea to go out anywhere. All of that aside and assuming that you both have a common interest; there are some great places that I would recommend to you if you are in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Here are the top 3 places to take a first date in Albuquerque, New Mexico:

The St. Clair Bistro located at Old Town Albuquerque:

901 Rio Grande Blvd NW
Albuquerque, New Mexico
505-243-9916

The food is wonderful. It is a little pricey, but if the date is special then you want to have something nice to remember for that special date. The cuisine is New Mexico and International. The food is definitely well prepared. The wines are the thing to take note of there. They have a vineyard that is locally run and operated. It is a great way to support the local economy and have a wonderful first date with your special someone. Call for hours as they change seasonally. Note that the dress for this restaurant is dressy.

My second choice for a great first date on the list of the top 3 places to take a first date in Albuquerque, New Mexico is Monica's El Portal. It is also located in Old Town Albuquerque, New Mexico at:

321 Rio Grande
Albuquerque, New Mexico
505-247-9625

The food is as local as you can get for a dining experience that is appropriate for a first date. It is New Mexico cuisine. The place has been in Old Town for years and is a historic landmark in Old Town. The prices are very reasonable. Call for hours as they change seasonally. After wards you can stroll through the gazebo in the small park in the center of Old Town. Week-ends often mean that local musician performances are available for anyone who wishes to stop and take the experience in. It is romantic and very special if you live in Albuquerque.

Last on this list is a place that only the outdoor lover would appreciate. If you are short on cash but long on romance; then get a picnic lunch at Grove Café & Market. It is located at:

600 Central Ave SE
Albuquerque, NM 87102
505-248-9800

There are open from Tuesday through Saturday 7 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon. they also have hours from Sunday 8 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon. They are closed on Monday. Grab a couple of box lunches and a bottle of wine and head up to the Sandia Peak for a hike and a picnic. There you can enjoy a romantic afternoon and a great local meal. Just be sure to treat your first date with respect.
