Top 3 Restaurants for a Romantic Evening in Islip, New York

Treat Your Sweatheart to a Romantic Dinner in Islip,New York

Bizilady
Islip, New York is a quaint hamlet town on the south shore of Long Island. A couple can enjoy a romantic dinner in one of these three restaurants. Each has its' own flavor, style and budget.

Tellers An American Chophouse
605 Main Street
Islip, New York 11751
631-277-7070

"Tellers", as the locals refer to it, is one of the finest and expensive restaurants outside of Manhattan.

The decor is of refined and sophisticated. As a former bank building in the heart of town, Tellers reminds one of another era with the dark wood walls and bar and soft lighting in the Gold Room bar. Tellers Delmonico is my favorite. It comes cooked to order, with truffle butter sauce and crisp onions. Add the sides of wild mushrooms and creamy spinach along with an award winning wine from their vault and it's a wonderful romantic experience for any couple. Get a table by the fireplace and it's complete.

A dinner for two can set you back about $100.00 before tips. Tuesday nights are wine dinner special with a fixed price, for those on a budget. Live music is 7-10pm Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday.

The Bayberry Cafe
526 Main Street
Islip, NY 11751
(631) 224-4967 (phone)
(631) 224-2790 (fax)

The very cozy, intimate cafe is dark and softly-lit. The decor is new England with green cafe curtains and soft hanging lights over each table. We were seated in the back corner and our romantic dinner starts with a glass of Zinfendel wine, fried artichoke with fresh basil and mozzarella. The entrée consists of chicken Francaise smothered in butter and white wine sauce, wild rice and house salad. They allow sharing for a small fee. The evening is topped by a drink at the quaint dark wood bar.

The atmosphere is friendly and non pretentious. Opened everyday but Mondays,10am-11pm, most days. Reservations are recommended on weekends and holidays.

Nico at the Mansion
712 Main Street
Islip, New York 11751
631-581-1900

Nico at the Mansion is know as "Gatsby's". The atmosphere is strictly old world charm, since this is an authentic mansion dating back to the 1860's. With the over stuffed chairs, white linen table clothes, rich wood paneled walls and heavy drapes separated sections.

The romantic couple can expect to be treated to a quiet, elegant environment with an extensive wine list and excellent entrée selections. I like to sit in the back room near the fire place. We ordered the grilled fillet mignon along with wild mushroom daube, brandy cream, and the potato-leek Anna, and thefig glazed boneless rib eye, Gorgonzolabutter, root vegetable hash, with balsamic steak sauce. The appetizers are big so we skipped these and had a glass of red wine. After dinner we sat at the beautiful long bar for cocktails. The atmosphere is so enticing. The evening costs around $100.00 before tips.

Hours: Lunch: Tuesday - Friday: 11:30am - 3:00pm; Dinner: Tuesday - Friday: 4:00pm - 10:00pm, Saturday: 5:00pm - 11:00pm, Sunday: 2:00pm - 9:00pm.

A romantic dinner needn't be expensive, so these are examples of what I had. There are specials on the menu site for different days and times. You won't be disappointed with any of these. You'll feel special and loved.
