Top 3 Restaurants to Take a First Date in Danville, PA

Ranee Wright
The best restaurants to take your date for the first time are Brews N Bytes, Old Forge Brewing Company, BJ's Steak and Ribs.

Old Forge Brewing Company 282 Mill Street, Danville PA

Hours: Tuesday through Thursday 11 am to 10 pm, Friday and Saturday 11 am to 12 am.

Old Forge Brewing Company has the freshest brew in Danville PA. Their homemade beer is brewed at the restaurant on Mondays. There is a bar and wooden booths upstairs and downstairs. The brewery is a hip joint to take your date. Their prices are reasonable and they offer free wi-fi, outdoor dining and live entertainment.

Menu options include appetizers, salads, soups, cold and hot sandwiches. I recommend fresh brews like the dark Slack Tub Stout and light Celestial Blonde. Try the Spinach Tomato Dip appetizer and Chicken Satay Wrap. Also on the menu at the Old Forge Brewery is a half pound burger called The Purist. That is one big burger!

Brews N Bytes 20 Lower Mulberry Street, Danville PA

Hours: Open for brunch on Mondays from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. Tuesday thru Thursday: 10:30 am to 8:30 pm and Friday 10:30 am to 9:30 pm., closed Saturday and Sunday.

Brews N Bytes is my favorite restaurant in Danville. I invited a friend to join me and they were surprised there was no beer on the menu. Their prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is quaint, cozy and artsy. Brews N Bytes is small but not stuffy. They offer free wi-fi, outdoor dining and live entertainment. You can play the bongos or other instruments set up at the front of the shop. There is also a large selection of board games and books to read while waiting for your meal.

Brews N Bytes serves breakfast anytime, soups, salads, appe-tapa-teasers, quesadillas, quiche du jour, wraps, Panini, puffer stuffers, stir fry, noodle bowls, smooth and frosty, and specialty drinks. The front counter displays delicious homemade desserts.

Not only is Brews N Bytes menu a vegetarian, seafood and Indian cuisine paradise, the names of the entrees are amusing. They do have shrimp, tuna, and crab. I recommend the PaNooNoo Veggie and There's Tuna in Altoona Panoona Panini, Humina Humina Humina, the Neptuna and the Chipotle Shrimp & Rice Taco Wraps, the Neptuna Salad and the Thorough Thoreau puffer stuffer. Their homemade salad dressing is out of this world. Try one of their specialty coffee drinks. I recommend the Good Night Kiss and Yin and Yang.

BJ's Steak and Ribs 291 Mill Street, Danville PA

Hours: Sunday through Thursday 11 am to 12 am, Friday and Saturday 11pm to 2 am.

Across the street from the Old Forge Brewing Company is BJ's. A bit pricier than Old Forge and Brews N Bytes, BJ's has a more formal atmosphere. There is a bar, booths and tables. This could be the most romantic place to take your first date to eat at in Danville depending on where you sit.

On the menu is of course, steak and ribs. Their steak is premium Angus beef and their baby-back ribs are hickory smoked. They also serve a variety of salads, soups, appetizers, entrees, burgers, hot and cold sandwiches, wines, cocktails and beer.

The second I saw that "Brews N Bytes" served Indian food - I thought, "We should do this and take a drive to Danville" It's not all that far, you know?! Cheers :)
