Top 3 Romantic Restaurants in Indianapolis

Pathseeker
Indianapolis has much to offer for those looking for a romantic dinner in town. Here are my top three choices for a romantic night in Indianapolis, featuring one-of-a-kind experiences that you will never forget.

Voted most romantic restaurant in Indianapolis, the Eagle's Nest offers a one-of-a-kind dining experience. Perched atop the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Indianapolis, the Eagle's Nest rotates slowly, giving diners a full view of the city of Indianapolis over the course of their romantic meal. Open from 5pm-10pm daily, dine early to catch the sunset or later to see the city light up around you. The spectacular view is matched with an outstanding gourmet menu that changes seasonally, prepared by chef Byron Gable. The full menu can be found on the restaurant's website, but expect to pay $7 for soups and salads and between $25 and $dollars an entrée for this romantic evening. Dress in business casual for the Eagle's Nest. This romantic Indianapolis restaurant offers live piano music in the lounge Friday and Saturday evenings starting at 6pm. Walk-ins are accepted, or make reservations by calling 317-616-6170.

The Melting Pot is a romantic Indianapolis fondue restaurant, and also where I spent my last anniversary. Though they are often located in strip malls - one on 86th Street and one in Greenwood - the atmosphere once inside is elegant. Tall, curved booths and well-placed walls give you a sense of privacy even when the restaurant is packed. A 5-course meal at the Melting Pot runs $150 per couple. Check out their website for additional treats like roses and framed photos of your romantic evening. This romantic Indianapolis restaurant is open for dinner Monday - Thursday 5pm - 10pm, Friday 5pm - midnight, Saturday 4pm- midnight, and Sunday 4pm - 10pm. Parking is convenient in open lots adjacent to the restaurants, dress is business casual. Call 317-841-3601 for reservations at the Melting Pot on 5650 East 86th Street.

For a more cultural romantic dinner in Indianapolis, look to a local restaurant called The Taste of Tango. Here you will find Argentine cuisine at its best, featuring steaks and wines and a menu prepared by chef Gaston Perez. Entrées run from $18-$40, and the wine selection is a real treat. Dress is casual. The Taste of Tango is open for dinner Monday - Saturday from 5pm to 10pm and is located at 36 East Washington Street, just south of Monument Circle. Walk-ins are welcome, or call 317-636-1122 to make reservations. A public lot is available for parking.
