Top 3 Stylish Spots to Enjoy Brunch in Uptown Charlotte, NC

Susan Brown
Sometimes, when you're not up quite early enough for breakfast, but you don't want to wait until the lunch hour either, you need a great little restaurant to stop in and relax. It could be a Sunday morning, perhaps, when you've partied Saturday night away... and so if you are in uptown Charlotte when those hunger pangs hit, try these three top spots.

Cedar StreetTavern
120 N. Cedar St
(704) 333-3448
www.cedarstreettavern.com

The flavors are modern American, and the joint is very stylish and attracts a decidedly hip crowd. From the floor to the ceiling, the vibe is fresh and fun while still being an actual pub setting. Their breakfast/brunch menu is available only on weekends, with all your favorite breakfast foods.

City Tavern
127 N. Tryon St.
(704) 334-1235
www.city-tavern.com

It's a more elegant type of tavern, with beautiful décor and professional staff. Enjoy a delicious brunch menu with items like over-stuffed sandwiches such as the tasty Crab Cake Sandwich on a sesame bun for $9, or the Vegetable Panini for $7 that includes grilled asparagus, bell pepper, red onion, and mozzarella on delicious focaccia bread. They have more breakfast type selections, too, like big fluffy waffles and a ton of starter items, too, like Smoked Chicken Quesadillas and Cajun Chicken Eggrolls.

The Orchards Restaurant @ The DoubleTree Hotel
895 W. Trade St.
(704) 347-0070

If you're not wanting to step into a place that resembles a pub at all, as the last two spots are, then The Orchards may be the spot for you. The place is elegant (dark wood accents, white table cloths), with enough laid-back flair to erase any stuffiness. The menu is classic and comforting, with all your favorite brunch options. Make sure to try one of their delicious Panini sandwiches which are a perfect in-between meal, for around $9. They open at 6 and close at 11, so brunch is not your only option here, either. And don't shy away because it's attached to a hotel - their main crowd doesn't stay at the hotel at all.
