Complement Your Dinner Experience with the Best Tasting Wines

Vikas D. Reddy
There's nothing better than sitting at the dinner table with your family on Christmas night, feasting on a tender steak, delicious mashed potatoes, and best of all, a fine wine to make a superb finish to any real Christmas dinner. Wines are exquisite in nature because their tastes vary so much to different people. However, it remains a huge part of tradition in many holidays, especially in countries such as France. Wine is the more sophisticated drink of society, one could say. Here are three of the best wines for Christmas dinner - affordable, genuine, and refined.

Shiraz Wine - Charles Cimicky 2005 Shiraz Reserve 750 mL

Syhiraz wine (or Shyra) is indisputably one of the best holiday wines. It is well known in countries such as the US, France, and Australia as a fine red wine. The flavors are definitely something to behold, encompassing a spicy blend of different flavors, such as pepper, plum, and blackberry. Remember, It can be aged up to five years.

Syrah wine is produced using red grapes, and from personal experience and my family's endeavors during Christmas and other special dinners, one of the best foods to go with it is meat. A lean steak is a great complement to its spicy addition to your taste buds, and can even be eaten with spicy Indian and Mexican food. Such a combination should be reserved for the truly adventurous diners.

The product to purchase here is the Charles Cimicky reserve, which can be bought at the Saratoga Wine Exchange site at only $43.95.

White Wine - Miner Family Vineyards 2006 Chardonnay, Wild Yeast

Chardonnay is one of the most popular white wines in the world and its being sold more and more every year. It is known to be affordable to the average person and still retain its fine taste. They can have a variety of different flavors and like red wine, they go well with a heavy Christmas dinner with lobster, poultry, steak, seafood, and other delicacies.

Take a moment and relax with the wife or enjoy the warmth of the fireplace as you sip this delicious wine. Buy a bottle here at the Miner Family Vineyards website; it is priced at $50.00. This particular wine contains melon, apricot, oak flavoring, and spice. It is fermented using only indigenous "tried and true" methods so the quality of the taste remains excellent.

Pinot Noir Wine - Acacia Pinot Noir Carneros 2006 750ML

Pinot Noir grapes are among the toughest to grow because it requires strict conditions for the best development. It is a light flavored red wine. Where this wine excels on the dinner table is as a complement to seasoning, spices, and creamy sauces. It is heralded by connoisseurs as one of the world's most versatile wine.

Pinot Noir Wine is very affordable for its quality and you can purchase it here at the Wine Buyer website - the only place where you can order a bottle of this superb drink online. It is priced here at $19.99, which is an eight dollar discount from the manufacturer retail price. Also keep in mind that there are special offers during the holiday season for this product, such as a 29% discount on a 12 bottle purchase - equaling a total of $239.88.

Enjoy Your Christmas Dinner the Way it Was Meant to be Enjoyed

Every Christmas dinner requires an embellishing touch of sophistication and attention to subtlety. A tender steak can never taste as delicious as it would with a nice sip of red wine to follow up each hearty bite. Believe it or not, your family will appreciate it more than you think.

Save the bottles for the most special occasions. It doesn't have to be Christmas. It could be any important day of the year when you just want to take a break from work and sit back and relax.

Make the most of your holiday season with your family.

As I live in Portugal right now, I'm all about stuff from Alentejo, Duoro, etc.

Australian Shiraz is my favorite. But don't despair, wine lover's; Crane Lake at 3 bottles for $10 is delicious.

Nice list but expensive. I am particular to Concha y Toro's Casillero Del Diablo Carmenere, it runs for about $14 for a 1.5L bottle. Its great around Christmas because its often on sale and the taste of plums, chocolate and spice fit with most Christmas dishes. Congrats on the feature!

I';m a little shocked that the cheapest priced wine is actually the wine that usually cost the most of the three. It takes a lot more money in order to produce Pinot. Pinot is the most difficult of all red wines to make. I would agree that Australia is the place to find bargain wines at the moment. Little Penguin (under $10.00) makes terrific wine. They do not have the right climate for Pinot though. Oregon maybe the best these days in the world, but once again it cost money. For a good Oregon Pinot you are looking in the 40'ish range. I also like Walla Walla Washington Reds like Cab/Sav and Merlot and they put out a terrific Syrah, especially K-Vinters. Walla Walla is currently the leading wine region in the world. I still think Chard is best in California... AND can be purchased less than $10.00 for a decent bottle.
