Top 3 Would-Be Celebrity Murderers

Joss Stone appears to be unshaken after British police foil an alleged murder-kidnapping plot Tuesday. Junior Bradshaw, 30, and Kevin Liverpool, 33, have been charged with conspiracy to rob and commit grievous bodily harm to the 24-year-old songstress. Mail Online quoted Stone as saying, "I'd like to thank everyone for their concern but I'm absolutely fine and getting on with life as normal while the police continue with their inquiries."

Investigators have suspected a criminal plot against Stone since they found a small red car that is understood to have contained a stash of swords, rope, several maps and photos of the area, and a body bag. The two men were scheduled to appear in Exeter Magistrates' court this morning.

Let's take a look back at the top three celebrities who emerged unscathed from the allegedly murderous designs of an accused criminal.

John F. Kennedy Jr.

Griselda Blanco is known as the dangerous drug kingpin from the movie "Cocaine Cowboys." People who haven't seen this film may not be aware that during the '90s, she hatched a plot from prison to kidnap JFK Jr. in exchange for her release from prison and safe passage to her home country of Colombia. At one point, two of her associates tailed the younger Kennedy and his girlfriend around the streets adjacent to their Manhattan apartment.

The plot would have no doubt gotten Blanco released from prison, but her cohorts were not oblivious to the ramnifications of kidnapping a Kennedy and refused to go through with it. The FBI was alerted to the plot by Charles Cosby, Blanco's then-boyfriend. The case against Blanco was scrapped after Cosby and the other prosecution witness, Jorge "Rivi" Ayala, allegedly had sexual encounters with Sherri Rossbach, according to Miami New Times. Griselda Blanco was released from prison anyway in 2004, and her current whereabouts are unknown. Kennedy tragically died in a plane crash in 1999.

Catherine Zeta-Jones

Dawnette Knight was a fan who developed an obsession with actor Michael Douglas. Since Douglas was married to Catherine Zeta Jones, Knight thought she needed to get rid of her to advance her relationship with Douglas. Knight sent threatening letters that stated she would "slash Jones' throat like Nicole Simpson" and "blow her up so pieces of her head look like President Kennedy's." One letter even said "we are going to slice her up like meat on a bone and feed her to the dogs."

Following a highly publicized trial in which both Jones and Douglas testified, Knight pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years in prison. She publicly apologized to Jones at her sentencing.

Michael Jackson

Frank Paul Jones wrote a letter July 6, 1992, threatening to kill Jackson and President George H.W. Bush. According to OK Magazine, the letter stated: "Michael (Jackson) I will personally kill if he doesn't pay me my money." Jones was arrested outside the White House on May 22, 1992, and was released July 2. The letter to Jackson was written the next day. The letter also stated: "I'll commit mass murder at a Michael Jackson concert if necessary, in an attempt to murder Michael, then you will have to deal with my situation in the public eye."

The threats seem to revolve around a female linked to Jackson who was never identified. Jones was charged with extortion, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to prison in 1993. Jones was also obsessed with Michael's sister Janet, and, in one letter, wrote "The situation -- is centered around her confused sexuality." He goes on to say if she does not "overcome" her issue over sexuality, "I'm gonna try to kill every homosexual on the face of the earth. If I can't save my wife, they can't be saved." The FBI released the letters in 2009 after Jackson's untimely death.
