1. Griffith Observatory
The Griffith Observatory is a popular tourist attraction that features science and space exhibits. It's a great place to visit considering that it's quite inexpensive. You can also get a great view of the city of Los Angeles. The reason why it's such a popular attraction even to people that reside in L.A. is because it recently opened from a five year renovation. Before visiting the Observatory, make sure that you make reservations for both admission and the shows. Furthermore, don't plan to stay at the Observatory the entire day because you're only allowed to stay for three hours. The Observatory is open daily, except Mondays.
2. Santa Monica Beach
In my opinion, Santa Monica Beach is one of the nicest beaches to go to. It caters to almost everyone. Whether you like shopping, walking around, riding on the ferris wheel, or you just feel like eating at a fancy but affordable restaurant, Santa Monica Beach will definitely do. If you do go to Santa Monica Beach, you'll most likely spend an entire day there. There's just so much to do! There are tons of free shows in the middle of 3rd Street Promenade. You'll see people dancing, singing, playing instruments, and even showing off their talents at balancing glassware!
3. Getty Center
If you have an interest in art, then visiting the Getty Center is without a doubt worth your time. It has a great selection of art pieces such as paintings, sculptures, and photography. I recommend checking out the special exhibition if you decide to drop by the Getty Center. The best part of the Getty Center is the Central Garden. The beautiful setting and magnificent architecture make the trip worthwhile. Besides, entrance only costs $5, which is for the parking fee. However, keep in mind that the Getty Center is closed on Mondays.
4. Walt Disney Concert Hall
The ever so famous Frank Gehry designed Concert Hall is worth a visit if you're interested in listening and watching the Philharmonic perform. Even if you're not interested in attending one of the concerts, a stop by the Walt Disney Concert Hall will leave you astounded. The architecture of the building itself is amazing. I bet you'll never encounter anything like it ever again.
Be sure to pack your itinerary with places to visit and things to do when you visit Los Angeles. There is always something to do!
