One of the most common gadgets in the world today is a cellular phone. The reason for this is that cellular phones serve a lot of purposes for many people and help us keep in touch with family and friends. They can also be used in the event of an emergency and this makes them ideal for seniors because it allows them to call for help if they are ever in need of assistance. I was able to purchase a cell phone for my grandmother and this gives her the ability to call a family member whenever she needs help around the house. I have done a lot of research and looking into the best cellular phones for seniors and I suggest that you look into these also. I was able to find them on Walmart.com
I have also used all of these phones personally with my grandparents.

LG 100C is a basic cell phone that seniors will love because it has the classic style of a regular phone with the keypad on the front of the device. There is no camera or camcorder on this phone but the it is about 5 inches big and easy to carry. The battery life is 4 hours and this phone can also be used for mobile browsing in case they want to surf the net. The phone is $30 and available at Walmart for their Straight Talk plan.

LG 290C is another simple and basically cell phone for seniors but this is a slider phone that has a keypad that is covered by a directional keypad. The phone lasts 4 hours and has a 1.3 MP camera for taking pictures and email in addition to web browsing. The phone lasts 3 hours and it is available at Walmart for their Straight Talk plan or Verizon.

Samsung M300 is an entry level device that is about four inches big and features a 1.3MP camera and camcorder in addition to the internet. This is a flip phone and the face of the phone is mirrored for talking pictures and emailing them to family. The phone lasts 3.5 hours of talk time and is available for Sprint at the Sprint store and retails for $60.

LG Lotus is great for those looking for an amazing phone that you can download applications on and customize the interface. The phone features video, camcorder and camcorder in a compact makeup style design of the phone. It sells for $100 and is available at a Sprint store or their network.

LG 220C is a very basic phone that can access the internet and download ringtones. It costs $40 and includes SMS messaging and you can find the phone at Walmart for their Straight Talk plan.

    It is vital for all seniors to have a cellphone. Sooner or later they will need to call for help, so there is no doubt that they should be carrying the phone around at all times. The low price makes it affordable for everyone.

    this does sound really interesting. HOw is the long distance on these phones?? I just want to be able to be in touch with my mom no matter where I am travelling. But these phones sound extremely compatible to my mothers needs. Plus I mean the price.. is incredible.

    agree sylvia.This is a great phone for anyone around my age. Folks if you dont have one of these you should go get one. The SVC phone ensures my safety. Im getting older and well sometimes its just nice to have a phone on me. Nowadays i never worry about my security as i know im always covered.only pay seven dollars a month

    I got my folks the Tracfone senior value phones from K-mart. We particularly liked the 911 emergency location assist and the big buttons, lit screen and large text and the low price was a pleasant surprise. They were thrilled with their gifts and so are we with the peace of mind we have now! the name value is in there... cause the value is unreal. seven bucks a month is what im charged. thats it.!

    Another suggestion is that we purchased a Jitterbug cell phone for my mother-in-law, and she seems to use it and like it very much. It's only $12.95 per month, so it's quite affordable.
