Eminem's most recent album 'Relapse' was a huge success. Some people said he'd fail because he'd been absent from the music world for so long. Wrong. Though his last album 'Encore' was released in 2004, stick hard fans hadn't forgotten about him as most critics speculated they would. When 'Relapse' came out in early 2009, fans flocked to stores and download sites. It was the number one download for a few days on iTunes. So, we'll be looking out for Eminem's signature sound being released in mid 2010.
Last Train to Paris - Sean "Diddy" Combs
His most previous album 'Press Play' was released in October of 2007. So really, we think it's time he releases another album. We just hope his new album does a little better than his most previous album. Though he's had some amazing singles featuring other rap stars, he's had more success with his old songs. Maybe he's just been too busy with the rest of his superstar empire. He has his record label, Bad Boy Entertainment, his cologne line, restaurant chain, and a movie production company. Yeah, I say he's been busy.
Lasers - Lupe Fiasco
His third album 'Lasers' was technically supposed to be released this year. But now, it's been put on the site as 'Release Date 2009-2010'. Slightly unhelpful but, at least it should be released soon enough. He was first discovered just a few years ago in 2007, when he was featured on one of Kanye West's songs 'Touch the Sky'. It makes sense since they're both from Chicago Illinois. He then released his first album in 2006, titled 'Food and Liquor', and his second album in 2007, 'Lupe Fiascos' The Cool'. His new album hopefully centers on his 'mega superstar' attitude that got him famous.
Detox - Dr. Dre
Supposedly this is the album that Dre's been working on for nine years. Whether that's true or not, I'm not sure. But that's what everyone says. It was supposed to be released in 2009 but he said he got so caught up working on Eminem's Relapse album that Dre's album got postponed. And, rumor has it that he'll be featuring Eminem (naturally), 50 Cent, and perhaps The Game. We'll see what happens.
The R.E.D. Album - The Game
To us fans, it was a surprise to hear that Game was coming out with a new album in 2010. Now this is the guy that said he would retire after his third album. And second, I though perhaps this album's name R.E.D. referred to the bloody streets he was accustomed too. But no. Apparently it stands for Rededicated. Rededicated to what we don't really know, I suppose he's referring to his family, his music and so forth. No matter what it stands for, he's got tracks featuring Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, and some other major rap artists.
Note: Not all of these albums have a confirmed release date. This is only what the record companies say will be coming out sometime in 2010.
