Western North Carolina is one of the most beautiful areas in the world. I'm not just saying this because I live here either. Look at several movies and you'll see that Hollywood also enjoys the views in Western North Carolina. Countless movies have been filmed in the area including The Fugitive, Hannibal, and The Last of the Mohicans. If you're a movie fan, you must visit Western North Carolina. Many of the attractions in Western North Carolina boast about the films that have been shot there. The following attractions are just a few of the wonderful places to visit in Western North Carolina and while not all of them have had movies filmed at their location, they are still worth visiting.

Biltmore Estate is the most beautiful home in America. This home was built between the years of 1888 through 1895. The owner behind this wonderful project was George Vanderbilt. Not only is the home amazingly gorgeous, over 100 years after it was built, but the area surrounding the Vanderbilt home is breathtaking. The house and the grounds are both attractions that keep tourists coming to Western North Carolina year after year. Many Presidents have stayed at Biltmore, but the most interesting part of this attraction is the numerous movies that have been filmed at this attraction. Biltmore Estate has seen actors from several motion pictures which have include Hannibal, Patch Adams, and Forrest Gump (just to name a few). In the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, they filmed the movie The Fugitive starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones.
