1. Adobe After Effects CS5. This is my favorite effects and editing software which I am familiar with the most. Adobe After Effects is a professional piece of software, able to produce advanced visual effects and edit video or picture files. With this software, your ability to create impressive video effects is endless. After Effects is a very good choice for beginners because of its user-friendly interface and simple controls. With hundreds of plug-ins and presets (integrated or third party) you can easily create any light, fire, explosion, text and hundreds of other effects. The program offers advanced features too: scripting, remapping, key filtering and my favorite - 3D camera composition. The availability to create video in 3D space is amazing, especially in its easy to use interface. Adobe After Effects is also compatible with your favorite 3D modeling software like 3D Max, Maya and other. The price of Adobe After Effects CS5 starts from 999 dollars. Source.
2. Adobe Premiere Pro. It is one of the best real time video editing software. This time-line based editing software is a member of the graphic design, video editing, and web development software pack made by Adobe Systems. Adobe Premiere Pro is able to process high resolution video files (4000 x 4000) and supports a wide variety of video and audio files. The price starts at 799 dollars or you can buy a product called CS5 Production Premium for 1699 dollars which includes Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop Extended. Source.
3. Sony Vegas Pro 9. Yet another very powerful and professional video editing and effects software. With its advanced composition tools, video and audio features it is one of the best video editing software for professionals or advanced users. It supports a 4k x 4k resolution and scripting is also an essential tool. The price starts at 895 dollars. Source.
4. Corel VideoStudio Pro X3. A lot simpler and less featured video editing software from mentioned above but it is fairly good. It runs smoothly and is good for simple editing - nothing too fancy or professional, especially good for beginner users. The price is 99 dollars. Source.
5. Windows Movie Maker. This is yet the simplest video editing software from all mentioned above. However, if you need a fast and simple video edit, the Windows Movie Maker is able to do basic editing and is able to add audio tracks, images, simple transitions, text and other features on the video. Why buy software which costs you hundreds of dollars if you need basic features or make a simple video edit. Price: free (for Windows OS users). Source.

Post a CommentYou mean best movie editing software for Windows. Unix and Linux has been the choice for professional movie editors for quite a while now. You can get Open Movie Editor for Linux as a free download and is as good or better than several of the programs you listed. Good article but just trying to keep the record straight.
