2 tablespoons tomato paste

Directions:

Soak beans overnight in water.

In a saucepan, cook the potatoes and cabbage together until just tender.

*Wheat flour can be substituted for the tapioca flour in this Brazilian food recipe but the resulting cheese roll will not be as light and fluffy. Traditionally, this Brazilian food recipe is made with manioc flour but this may be difficult to find aside from in specialty stores.

Directions:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Sift flour into a bowl.

In a medium saucepan, combine the oil, salt and about three ounces of water. Bring to a boil.

Slowly pour the water/oil mixture onto the flour, stirring it to stiff dough.

Allow the dough to cool slightly, and then mix in the egg, yogurt and cheese (in that order).

Form the dough into twelve inch balls with well greased hands. Arrange on a non-stick baking sheet.

Put into the oven and reduce heat to 350 degrees F.
