Top 5 Budget Friendly Auto Gifts for Christmas or Anytime

Zacharoo
One thing you can count on is that the people you are buying Christmas gifts for have at least one vehicle. It's just a fact of life that people have vehicles, and that these vehicles require an upkeep and new parts every now and then. Many of these parts can be quite expensive, some replacement parts cost more than what the vehicle is even worth!! But no fears... if you are looking for some cheap stuff to get for a vehicle, you have come to the right place. This is my list of the top 5 gifts:

#1. An oil change

This is probably one of the most overlooked and most skipped part of a vehicles upkeep. The vehicles oil should be changed somewhere around every 3,000 miles or every 3 months, whichever comes first. Some should be changed even more often depending on what kind of terrain you drive in, or the amount of abuse they put on the engine. Changing the oil often will help keep other, more expensive problems from arising. Oils changes are fairly cheap too, most auto shops charge somewhere around $20 for a basic oil change, and a little more if you want a new air filter or want synthetic blend or full synthetic oil. A full synthetic oils change will be somewhere around $40 to $50.

#2. Car Seat Covers

This one is especially for people with older cars. Car seat covers have an amazing illusional affect to them. They can make older cars look much newer on the inside, and nice leather style car seat covers will make any car with cloth seat look much better. I got some leather ones in my cameron hat had just plain grey cloth seats...the improvement was phenomenal. Car seats also have a very wide range of costs. The leather ones will be more expensive, and you will need to buy at least 2, or more depending on the type of vehicle. You can buy some that come in packs of 2. Pricing will range from $15 to $75.

#3. Car Cleaning/Polishing Kits

These kits are great for anyone looking to clean up their car a bit. These kits include items for cleaning the inside and outside. ArmorAll is the best with these kits and have many different versions of them with different items and prices. The gift packs are available at many retailers including: Target, Wal-Mart, Sears, and K-Mart. These will cost you somewhere around $20 depending on which version you choose.

#4. Wiper Blades

Wiper blades may not be the most exciting gift they receiving for Christmas, you can be assured that they will be used, and that they are an integral part of the recipients vehicle. Wiper blades, as with oil, is a part of the vehicle that needs to be replaced every so often, manufacturers say they should be changed every 12 months. Often people will go longer, ether because they forget, or they don't care, or just don't want to dish out the cash to replace them. When you wait too long though, they don't work as well and when the rain comes down it is hard to see. Buying a set for them will destroy an excuse they have for not changing them. Installation is quite easy, and many now just clip on. Cheap wiper blades start at about $7 each and higher performance blades can be about $20 each.

#5. Auto Part Store Gift Card

If you are unsure, you can always grab them a gift card from one of the Auto Part stores. A $25 card will allow them to buy oil, or filters, or lights, or wiper blades, or whatever when they need them. These are nice because they allow the people to get what they need, when they need it. Most major Auto Part stores offer gift cards at their retail locations. They are available in different amounts.
