Graduating from high school is a great accomplishment that deserves to be celebrated! One great way to do this is with a celebratory high school graduation trip. While this notion is not new, these days with the struggling economy many worry about the cost of what such a trip would cost. Here is a look at 5 budget-friendly high school graduation trips.

1. Take a cruise! These days cruise companies have drastically slashed prices on cruises to beautiful locations such as the Bahamas, Alaska or even international cruises that take you to different countries. Cruises offer many of the same luxuries that many luxurious hotels and resorts do so you will feel pampered and rested before you get back to the real world of work or going to college. Prices for cruises will vary depending upon your location and where you want to travel to but many offer special discounts especially for those who book early. Some start out as little as $350!

2. Tampa Florida. Many people opt to travel to the more well-known locations in Florida such as Orlando or Miami and forgo all the fun that can be had in Tampa Florida. Located in Central Florida Tampa Florida is a great point of interest for visitors. Not only is it a short distance from great beaches such as Clearwater Beach or Honeymoon Island but it also just a small distance from attractions in Orlando. Tampa has its' own charms with fun places such as the amusement park Bush Gardens and for those who enjoy the nightlife they can check out historic Ybor, a place filled with clubs and restaurants. Lodging is fairly affordable usually around $80-$90 a night depending upon where you stay.

3. San Diego California. While it may not hold the same glamor that Hollywood seems to possess San Diego is a great place to visit in California with many things to take part in. Besides the great beaches you can visit, San Diego is just a short distance from beautiful La Jolla and not too far from Mexico. You can take a day to go to Mexico to hit the nightlife or do some shopping with the locals. Plane tickets will vary but for those who book ahead of time they can get a round trip ticket for around $250 if they shop around. Hotels may be a bit more than other locations but one way to cut the cost is to get a friend to come along and share the cost of the room with you.

4. London! For those who really want to get away, graduates should consider going international and visiting London. Besides all the great shopping, restaurants and nightlife, graduates will also get a chance to experience a whole other country before heading to work or college. Many assume that because it is international it will be pricey but for those who do their research, there are many deals where you can get lodging and plane fares combined for around $300 a person for a 5 day trip!

5. Take a road trip! Road trips are great whether you want to head out alone for a trip or even better with a few friends. These can also be the least expensive of graduation get-aways. Get together with a couple of friends and map out some nearby big cities or other locations you have always wanted to go to. For those who like to plan you can get the best deals on hotels by looking at websites such as hotels.com. Besides being inexpensive you may find your road trip to be the most exciting trip you can have before heading off to college or your new career path.
