1 - Silver Springs RV Resort: Facility amenities include a billiard hall, electric hookups, wireless Internet access, recreation and computer hall, two clubhouses, laundromat, shuffleboard and tennis courts, a covered and heated outdoor swimming pool, organized activities and horseshoe pits. Pets are welcome at the resort.
2 - Wilderness RV Park Estates: The facility is massive in size and caters to visitors, seasonal and year around residents. Amenities include an beach front swimming pool, laundromat, bath house, social clubhouse, fitness and recreation center as well as the Trading Post general store and cafe. The resort is situated along the banks of the Ocklawaha River.
3 - Highbanks Marina and Campresort: Campground amenities include full electric hookups, charcoal grills, a boat ramp, playground, shuffleboard, laundromat, outdoor swimming pool and wireless Internet access. Pets are not permitted at the facility.
4 - Williston Crossings RV Resort: Facility amenities include an on-site convenience store, horseshoe pit, electric hookups, cable television, clubhouse, wireless Internet access and shuffleboard. The facility is situated on 160 acres adjacent to a lake.
5 - Thunder Gulch Campground: The facility offers full electric hookups, laundromat, bath house, access for people with disabilities and a horseshoe pit. A public golf course is less than ten miles away from the campground. Pets are permitted at campsites.
Area Attractions
Silver Springs Park is an entertainment and outdoor recreation haven for both visitors and locals. Get a close-up view of native Florida wildlife, including one of the world's rarest reptiles - the white alligator. Two acres of manicure outdoor trails lead you to the largest bear exhibit in the United States, including the only Kodiak bear habitat in Florida. Glass bottom boats have offered passengers a view of what lays beneath the lake's surface for over 30 years. Cultural events and live concerts also occur at Silver Spring Park year around.
State and National Park Campgrounds
Ocala National Forest
You can awaken to the chirping of a Florida Scrub Jay and begin an exciting day exploring the great outdoors. Rent or bring your own kayak to explore over 600 waterways inside the national forest. Traverse rugged hiking trails on the 383,000 acre natural oasis. Recreational activities at Ocala National Forest grounds include back country hiking trail, motorized and muscle-powered boating, mountain biking, swimming, fishing, horseback riding trails and bird watching. Lake Waldena Campground is situated inside the Ocala National Forest and features lakefront primitive camping as well as electrical sites, sports courts, recreation hall and a bathhouse. Ben's Hitching Post is an adults only facility from September through April. Fourteen campgrounds, including primitive, electric and equestrian spaces operate under the guidance of the forest service.
Silver River State Park
Silver River State Park offers more than a dozen natural springs flanked by hiking trails and a ten nature viewing areas. Fifteen miles of bicycling trails are shaded by mature oak trees and a picnic area. Get an upper-body workout while paddling along the Silver River. You can rent kayaks and canoes at the launch. Climb up into the saddle and hit the bridle trails. The state park campground features electrical hook-ups, offers a fire ring and charcoal grill at each campsite. The facility is leash pet friendly.
