The Los Angeles Auto Show began on 4th December and concluded on 13th December. More than 900 vehicles from sports cars and sedans to crossovers and minivans are being displayed at this Show. Hundreds of these vehicles are current, coming and prospective new models. It was held at Los Angeles Convention Centre.

Here are the top 10 most significant cars of the LA Auto Show:

1. 2011 Chevrolet Volt

The much-anticipated 2011 Chevrolet Volt was showcased at the LA Auto Show. The new Chevy Volt is not a plug-in hybrid, but rather it is an extended-range electric vehicle (E-REV). The 2011 Chevrolet Volt will differ markedly from the Prius and other pertol/electric hybrids. It will also differ in many ways from the racy-looking Volt concept unveiled at the January 2007 Detroit Auto Show. It will go on sale next year.

2. Honda P-NUT Concept

The Honda P-NUT Concept has been the show's most whimsical debutante. The Personal-Neo Urban Transport (P-NUT) hints at a car that that city dwellers may be able to drive in the not-so-distant future. The concept car is a 3-passenger car that features a centre driving configuration bundled with a rear engine layout. But the small car has surprisingly enough leg room for rear passengers as two rear seats flank the centre driving position. Moreover, there are no side mirrors on the concept model, but there is a back-up camera. It has been built with a minimal footprint to make it easy to manoeuvre in cities. Honda says the P-NUT is ready for one of three possible powertrains: an efficient fuel engine, a fuel-electric hybrid, or a pure electric set up.

3. 2011 Toyota Sienna

Toyota won many accolades for the 2011 Sienna. This handsome minivan is a kind of ultra-utilitarian transportation solution that will hit the US by February 2010. The third-generation Toyota Sienna is very sporty and could be driven more like a sedan while still accommodating more people and luggages with equal ease.

Built on a revised version of the outgoing platform, the 2011 Sienna has the same wheelbase but is slightly shorter, lower and wider than its predecessor. It will be available in five variants. Moreover, the V6 is the same 3.5-liter Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) unit with 266 horsepower. The 2011 Toyota Sienna will also come in VVT-i 2.7-litre four-cylinder engine with 187 bhp.

4. Subaru Tourer Concept

The Subaru Tourer Concept has been developed over many years around the Subaru's core technology of "Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD)" and "Horizontally-Opposed Boxer Engine", into the integration of a luxurious and high-quality cabin atmosphere and an eye-catching sculpted body. The Subaru Hybrid Tourer Concept features Subaru's latest evolutions in handling agility, riding comfort and superior safety performance. It proposes Subaru's vision of a future grand touring car that excels in environmental friendliness.

5. 2011 Ford FiestaThe 2011 Ford Fiesta is another "world-car" project a la Ford's 1981 Escort and 2000 Focus. The all new 2011 Fiesta comes in both as 4-door and 5-door configurations. The 2011 Fiesta marks Ford's re-entry in the sub-compact market with a model good enough to attract the young car buyers. The car aggressively features European styling and bright colours. The model is already highly successful in overseas market and is the second biggest seller in Europe. Ford Motors expects the new model to be equally popular in the US market once it hits the showrooms.
