Top 5 Cheapest Places to Dine in Italy

Tye
Italy is a beautiful country full of culture and history. It is listed as one of the top 10 places to honeymoon. The home of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, you will find world famous art and monuments at every turn. Along with its trend setting fashion, spectacular coasts, beautiful lakes, and famous mountains, you will find cuisine top of the list of what makes this place a popular tourist attraction.

There are many places to eat in Italy; food is one thing that you will never go without. Authentic Italian food is very different from the American and Western Europe versions. Lunch and dinner in Italy is a huge social event, while breakfast is very small.

What I would like to go over is the low-priced restaurants for people who are looking for good food without the huge price tag.

Danny Rock

Danny Rock is a popular restaurant located in Via Pandolfini. The restaurant has been given a lot of flack for its name, but you can't deny the food. Serving both Italian and American dishes, it is a hot-spot for both American tourists and Italian natives. Hamburgers with fries, baked potatoes, huge salads, pizza, primi, and made to order dessert crepes are just some of the items that patrons love about the place. With their reasonable prices, I would suggest a visit to Danny Rock.

Pane e Olio

If you like surprises and enjoy trying new things, this will be the place for you. The only variety of choice is meat or vegetarian since the menu changes daily based on the availability of produce. Pane e Olio is a favorite with the locals and students studying abroad. A very small restaurant, it is considered to have some of the best Florentine cuisine around. The meal includes 5 or 6 courses and comes with a variety of desserts. The price you pay for all of this wonderful food is a flat rate anywhere between 20 and 35 Lire. How your bill is determined? Make sure you are nice to your waiter because he decides if you pay 20 or 35. I recommend this little restaurant for its character and originality.

Trattoria Pallottino

If you are visiting Italy during August 5-21, you will find this little favorite among the locals closed. Any other days, they are open and ready to dazzle you with their reasonable prices and bruschetta al pomodora. I like the atmosphere here with one long room with a few long tables and cobblestone floors. Plus, as an added bonus, the famous Vivoli ice cream parlor is right next door for you to enjoy gelato after dinner.

Yellow Bar

If you have a large group with you, the Yellow Bar is the place to go. The restaurant has picnic-style tables and is very informal. This is probably why they are so popular with the younger crowd. At this restaurant you will find quick good pizza and pasta for very reasonable prices.

Edi House

Are you looking for an authentic Italian pizzeria? Edi House is where you need to go. The 'It' pizzeria for the local, they don't usually have many tourist stop by; so knowing some Italian would help. The pizza, with very thin and light crust, is so incredible you wouldn't want pizza any other way. You even have the option of having a Tuscan cuisine as topping choices. It is great and a must-have when looking for places to dine in Italy.
