Top 5 Cheesecake Toppings

Bridget Ilene Delaney
Cheesecake has many forms and variations. There are styles that exist around the world. However, one things is for certain and that is that it is a favorite dessert of many people. Cheesecakes often come with toppings. Here are the best toppings for cheesecakes.

None

Cheesecakes are best when there are no toppings unless it is part of the recipe to make a topping to go with other flavorings in the cake. However, most cheesecakes do not have more than the sweet cream cheese taste to them. Having nothing on top makes it easy to enjoy the delicious flavor of the cheesecake.

Raspberry Sauce

A sweet raspberry sauce lightly drizzled over a piece of cheesecake can be delicious. Too much raspberry sauce covers the flavor of the cheesecake, though. A nice addiction to using raspberry sauce to make the cheesecake look nice is putting a fresh raspberry on the top of the cheesecake.

Chocolate

Chocolate is a great topping to a cheesecake. A chocolate syrup can be lightly drizzled over the top of a piece of cheesecake. Chocolate shavings can be sprinkled over a cheesecake. Chocolate can be slightly melted and cooled so it hardens onto the cheesecake. While it is difficult to put too much chocolate onto things, a good balance between the chocolate and cheesecake is wanted so that the chocolate does not overtake the flavor of the cheesecake.

Blueberry Sauce

A sweet blueberry sauce that is lightly drizzled over a piece of cheesecake is also very good. Fresh blueberries can be used to decorate the slice of cheesecake, too.

Caramel

Caramel may seem like an odd choice for a cheesecake topping. However, it goes well with cheesecake. Before passing on caramel as a topping, remember that there are turtle cheesecakes where are cheesecakes with chocolate, caramel, and pecans. Then also remember that there's banoffee pie which is basically a banana and toffee cheesecake. Toffee can be similar to caramel. Drizzling caramel over a piece of cheesecake is a delicious option for a dessert.
