Top 5 Christmas Gifts for Manly Men

Pamela Pleasant
If you are anything like me the thought of buying Christmas presents that make a "manly man" happy is a difficult task. I could always just buy clothes or funny tee shirts. But I know if I do this, I will surely get some less then happy looks from all my Manly men on Christmas morning.

Trying to avoid this at all costs, I decided to search around for some unusual gifts any Manly man would love. I came up with a few good suggestions.

Does your manly guys like boxing?. If so, HBO and Pay Per View have boxing matches frequently, and it is very easy to order one. I did this for my husband one year. He invited his friends and they snacked on junk food, drank beer and smoked cigars. Although I decided to stay clear of this party, I heard a good time was had by all.

What about a manly adventurer?. Every family has its "thrill seekers", and mine is no exception. So for these types I suggest something that can leave a lasting memory. Skydiving, hanggliding and balloon ridings are great ways to please a thrill seeker type. Not only do you get a guide to help you through your jump, you can also record your entire jump on video. As well as the plane ride up. I had some friends do this and they had a such a good time. There was only one thing that could put damper on this particular gift. If your thrill seeker has an uneasy stomach, you might want to choose something different.

Blue ray DVD players are very popular this year. Boasted as being the next generation of high definition entertainment, it guarantees perfect picture quality. It is a, "must have" popular gift this year. Most men enjoy having the latest electronic devices, especially when it comes to their television sets.

Every Manly man I know is actually a big kid at heart. So if that is the case, how about a Wii by Nintendo?. A Wii is a game that has gained its popularity from being interactive. For example when you play tennis on Wii you actually have to get up and virtually swing your tennis racket. Good exercise for a couch potato. It is also one of the top selling "must have" gifts for Christmas 2008. Great for manly men of all ages.

The last manly gift on my list is Tools or Power Tools. Although I will never understand this fascination, you just cannot miss on this one. No matter what it is, a hammer or even some kind of drill, it will leave any manly guy with a huge smile on his face when he opens his gift. According to my husband, Sears has the best selection of tools while also having the best prices.

I hope this list has helped a little and good luck finding, that perfect manly man gift.

I think we have different definitions of "manly men." When I think manly man gifts, I think boxing equipment and lumberjacking tools. Mind you, I do love a nice copper cooking pot too.
