Top 5 Christmas Themed Video Games

C.B. Jones
Ever since the Nintendo Entertainment system was released, video games and Christmas have been tied at the hip. There always seems to be some sort of special bundle for consoles and popular games released during the holiday season. With the obvious connection between these two entities, there have been a good number of Christmas themed games and secrets within said games over time. So here it is, the five best video games with a Christmas theme.

Christmas NiGHTS.
NiGHTS into Dreams is one of the I still prefer SEGA's Saturn over Sony's Playstation system. Christmas NiGHTS is neat little graphical modification of this terrific game. It looks just like this one dream I had a few years ago. I was in a race against Santa Claus. Long story short, he cheated and stole my piggy bank before I was able to wake up.

Home Alone.
The Home Alone movie was set around Christmas, wasn't it? I mean, leaving a kid in a big house to defend himself against burglers in January would be more of a drama than comedy. Home Alone: the video game just as good as most other movie inspired games. Make of that statement what you will.

South Park.
The first South Park video game was released on Playstation, Nintendo 64 and PC. It was a snowball game. That's really all that needs to be said about it. Yellow snowballs are wicked fun. That is, unless, you are the one getting hit with them. In which case, then it's just nasty and unfortunate.

Ready 2 Rumble Round 2(Dreamcast)
Set the date of your Dreamcat's internal clock to Dec. 25. There will be a Snowman design on the canvas and some of the characters wear costumes. The Ready to Rumble series was pretty fun. The only thing missing from this game was the ability to square off against Frosty, or that drummer kid. I heard he has a mean left hook.

Elf Bowling.
I'm not really much of a bowler. I've played bowling video games before, as well as the real thing once. Real bowling is too hard. Elf bowling is a therapeutic experience. Imagine lining up a bunch of people who owe you money, or made fun of you at one point in your life. Now imagine having the privilege to rolling a big heavy ball in their general direction, and knocking them all down with it in one felt swoop. Elf Bowling is the closest thing you're gonna get to doing that.
