Top 5 Comedic Webisodes

Ashley Woods
Webisodes have been around for nearly ten years, but are now becoming more popular with the rise of YouTube.com and hit television series, such as Heroes, The Office, and Monk, spinning off their own side shows only viewable on the Internet. I spent a whole weekend devoted to finding the best and most funny webisodes out there. The research was worthwhile because I found some great, hidden talent in these short, four to eight minute episodes. Here are my favorite comedic webisodes:

Roommating

The Roommating Show is about two roommates, Joel and Erin, who meet on Craigslist and film their life together in short, hilarious clips. Their randomness will keep you laughing and you will find yourself quoting their funny one-liners long after you are through watching.

They were recently featured on YouTube's home page and have since seen a growth in their audience with their latest episode, "Dog."

Leaving Bliss

At first, this show seemed a little too strange for me; but by the end of the fifth episode, I was hooked. Patience Owens, a socially awkward, young woman leaves her hometown, Bliss, Iowa for Hollywood to become an actress.

She encounters many twists and turns in her journey that will leave you shaking your head and laughing out loud.

Imaginary Bitches

Think of Sex in the City with a twist; the main character, Eden, has not one, but two imaginary friends. Eden's imaginary friends always pull her into nightmarish situations that involve men, dating and sex. You won't be able to stop watching or guessing at what will happen next.

Dorm Life

The camera captures what dorm life is like for a floor of college students. The students range from the floor nerd to the floor alcoholic. It is interesting, to say the least, to watch how these college students interact with each other and the drama they cause.

Man in the Box

I ran across the Man in the Box webisodes on YouTube and would call it a dirtier and more outrageous version of "The Office." The show centers around the daily office happenings of our tortured star, Greg Bizjack. Watch Greg as he entertains himself and humiliates his co-workers just to get through another day at work.
