Top 5 Computer Speakers to Replace Your Old Ones

Listening to Music on Your Computer Shouldn't Be a Disappointment...

J G Hodnette
We have all been in a situation where we want to listen to the latest new single from our favorite band freshly downloaded from iTunes or out on youtube. We click play and turn up our speakers in anticipation. But what do we get? Disappointing sound quality from the cheap speakers that came with our computer. Whether it's your tiny speakers on your laptop or the cheap mass produced speakers that came with your desktop, bad speakers are no fun for anyone. So what to do? Well it's time to replace them with something that will actually make listening to music on your computer fun again. But which to choose...?

Logitech Z-2300

These speakers have been on the market for ages, but they are still listed as one of the best computer speakers that money can buy. This set includes two side speakers and a subwoofer. When all three are combined, you have yourself a great sound for music playback! Price ranges from $125.00-$169.99.

Creative Inspire S2 Wireless

This speaker system that includes two small side speakers and a subwoofer has the impressive bonus of being bluetooth wireless. If you're sick and tired of wires getting in the way, then this may be the perfect choice for your computer. The sound is very good except for at very high volumes, when it distorts. The only problem is that the bluetooth can sometimes be a bit unreliable. Price ranges from $110.00-$145.00.

SoundSticks II 3-Piece Speaker System

The SoundStick II matches awesome looks with excellent performance. This three part set of speakers is made with clear plastic in a futuristic and alien looking design. These are excellent speakers all around, but unfortunately were not designed with a headphone jack. This oversight is their only flaw. Price ranges from $105.00-$170.00.

Altec Lansing Expressionist Ultra MX6021

These large and powerful speakers are fantastic for the price with powerful bass and a very clean sound. Their design is also pretty great--a bit of a space age look while still being recognizably a speaker. Their downfall is the shortness of their cords which make it difficult to position them around your desktop computer. Price ranges from $150.00-$199.00.

Audioengine 5

If you're looking for top class speaker performance and aren't really bothered about the price, then this amazing product is for you. These speakers are of professional quality, but their downside is that they are so bulky that many people may find that they have no place for them around their computer. Price of $325.00.

These are just five fantastic speakers that come to my mind when I think of the best. If you didn't find what you're looking for here, keep searching. There are a wide variety of speakers for a variety of price ranges. Find the one right for you!

Thanks for an excellent article. People should never keep the volume loud enough to create distortion.

Good info, I'm currently shopping around for some new speakers, and will probably end up hoosing one of the many Logitech sets.

I highly recommend a subwoofer...without it, the two small speakers which came with my computer sound like tiny gnats singing and playing instruments. Enjoyed your review of these products.
