When applying that beautiful new lip color or dying your hair the perfect shade of brown, does the thought of an animal wincing and screaming in pain come to your mind? I am guessing your answer would be no as well as would be mine, until I did some research into cosmetic companies that do testing on animals.
Although I am a huge animal lover, I selfishly did not give animal testing a whole lot of thought. I believe in part because I selfishly did not allow the gut wrenching thoughts to come to my mind and in the moments when I did, I foolishly believed or talked myself into believing that most cosmetic companies did not do testing on animals.
Horrendous Pictures In My Mind
Now, not only while I consider some of the cosmetics I use, at the same time I also have horrendous pictures in my mind of animals that are literally screaming from pain and trying to wriggle away so hard from the chemical, dye or ingredient being injected, rubbed or inhaled into them that they break their neck or other bones in their bodies.
The cosmetic companies that are listed in this article were chosen because they are large, well known companies that do animal testing. There are many more out there not listed, however full lists of cosmetic companies that do animal testing are on the links below.
Most companies offer a variety of product lines and the companies may claim that some of their products are not tested on animals. However they very well may have many other products in their line that do animal testing, it is important to do research into the company to get a full picture of what is going on.
How You Can Help
Not only are the cosmetic companies that do animal testing listed but there are also companies that offer products other than cosmetics that are listed. Lists are also available with companies that do not test on animals and what you can do to help and make a difference. However, viewer beware that there are graphic photos and videos of animals that are and were put through horrific animal testing procedures. It is enough to make your stomach churn and feel the need to get sick.
While I cannot get the graphic images of animal testing victims out of my mind, I am glad I am not able to let go of those mental pictures. The animal testing images are what has caused me to make a change in my life and pursue only purchasing items from companies that do not do animal testing what so ever.

It's not necessary ever the FDA says to use whatever methods necessary they do not specifically say that you must test on animals.

Mankind is a cruel species, whether we like it or not.
I refuse to use Max Factor because the owner of the company was in jail for being a serial rapist. I didn't know about all of these though! I refuse to use Pantene because they test on animals. Thanks for sharing.
How dreadful!!! Thanks for the list of companies to be avoided at all costs...
Great report. Will they ever quit this cruel abuse?!
ALERT: Veggies and Vegans.... and, of course, lovers of animals who eat them anyway...
How awful. I can't imagine this type of abuse to living creatures, and some think it's okay. Thanks for the info. I'll never use those.
