Top 5 Dancing Reality TV Shows

It's a bird... it's a plane...NO it's another reality TV show. The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet (the first reality TV show) opened a Pandora's Box of programs claiming to "keep it real". These shows can be about anything. Finding a mate, losing weight, deserted islands, etc. While many of these shows have an effect similar to the scratching of nails on a chalkboard, there are a few programs that I consider to be Top 5 Material. So, this is it. My picks for the Top 5 Dancing Reality TV Shows.

~5 - I think we all deserve second chances. This shows make it possible for washed-up, has-beens, the opportunity to show that they've "Still got it!" These celebrities team up with professional to create beautiful routines. This show is "Dancing with The Stars."
~4- "Dance Your Ass Off"-literally. The concepts of everyone's favorite past-time (dancing) and everyone's biggest obsession (losing weight) come together in a show where the contestants have everything to lose. This one is really tons of fun!
~3- "Dance Wars". A friendly rivalry between to renowned choreographers is the basis for this one. Bruno and Carrie Ann who are both judges on"Dancing with the Stars", each lead a team of performers in a battle to see who's the best. This show is the equivalent of a Packers and Vikings football game for those who like dance.
~2-From the mind of Paula Abdul, "So You Think You Can Dance", is a show that takes people out of their comfort zones. Most of the contestants are experts in one particular style. However, they are expected to be versatile and learn, as well as display an accurate and professional adaption of the newly learned style. They pair up and each week couples are broken up and re-paired as individuals are voted off. Exciting! By the way, Chelsea and Mark's season 4 performance to "Bleeding Love" definitely made this Top 5 material.
~1-And, of course, my #1 pick is ABDC, America's Best Dance Crew. This show is a little less versatile. Meaning although the title speaks of Dance as general, you have to be well versed in hip hop to be successful. These crews are given a challenge that they must overcome each week. The viewers choose who is in danger of being voted off, and the judges smack the gavel. Each week a banner must fall as the crews exits the stage while "Walk it Out" is playing. None the less, all the tricks you see from men flipping on roller skates to the bone breakers from Brooklyn, the only dull moment is in the off-season.

Well, that's it. Check out my next article where I found the Top 5 Cooking Reality Shows. It's a tough job...but somebody's got to do it!
