Top 5 Digital Cameras on the Market

Want to Buy a Digital Camera?

TechTips
I am a huge fan of digital cameras and have bought several different cameras in the past years and then as I upgraded passed the old ones on to family members. Well now I have made a list of my five favorite cameras and why they are such great digital cameras. All of these cameras range in quality and price but all are worth having.

#5 Olympus FE-190

The Olympus FE-190 is a small compact digital camera that combines looks and quality into one small camera. The camera takes good quality images photos even though it lacks a big list of manual controls. It is a basic camera for the more basic users but it offers a good set of features, good image quality and an affordable price tag. This camera is for the most basic users who just want a camera so they can take it out of their pocket and start snapping photos without any worries. Most of the setting and focus are manual and produce good shots. The Olympus FE-190 gets a 3 of 5 rating for its great price ($140) vs. image quality and lack of manual settings.

#4 Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T100

The Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T100 is a good little camera with an attractive design that fits perfectly in your pants pockets or purse. The Cyber-Shot offers a camera that will take great photos with very little effort; it boasts an 8-megapixel lens so you will get lots of details in your pictures. The camera also offers a video camera mode so you can get videos along with photos, this is a must have in any digital camera now. I wouldn't say the Cyber-Shot is feature packed but it gives you a good number of manual settings to choose from so if you are a more advanced user you can change some settings for better picture quality. Overall the Cyber-Shot gets a 3 of 5 rating for cost (relatively high cost at about $400) vs. options and design.

#3 Canon PowerShot SD800 IS

The PowerShot SD800 IS turns out to be one of the best in the Canon line of digital cameras. An attractive design much like its predecessors in the PowerShot line, the camera is pleasing to look at and fits very well in your hands. The PowerShot SD800 is a 7-megapixel camera that takes exceptionally good photos, coupled with quick performance and reliable photo quality this is a great camera for the basic user. It has very few manual settings which can be a good and a bad thing, if you don't like to mess with manual settings then this could be a great camera for you, it does most of the work for the user. If you want to be able to control a wide range of settings then this isn't the camera for you. The PowerShot SD800 gets a 4 of 5 rating for price (again relatively high $310) vs. picture quality and ease of use. Makes a good point and shoot camera for mom, but probably not the right camera for the photography enthusiast.

#2 Nikon Coolpix P3

The Nikon Coolpix P3 is am amazing little camera, it takes phenomenal photos with great quality over and over again. The images are rich in color and look sharp and never grainy. The camera has a built in Wi-Fi so you can transfer your photos to your computer via the wireless capability. I love the Wi-Fi option for transferring pictures, it acts just as it says, and it will transfer your photos wirelessly and nothing more. The camera also has a huge set of features that users can change and set how ever they see fit. A more advanced camera for a more advanced user, this little puppy is well worth the money, although it costs quite a bit. The Nikon Coolpix P3 gets a 4 of 5 rating for the Wi-Fi capabilities and the image quality vs. the cost (which is anywhere from $325-370).

#1 Kodak EasyShare V705

A great camera for anyone, with great image quality, lots of easy to set manual settings, and a video camera that takes stunning video with amazing sound. This camera does it all flawless pictures; video with audio that you would think was taken from a high-end video camera, and plenty of features that any user can set. The camera is easy to use with a simple menu system that is simple to go through and change settings, and it has the patented dual lens technology. It's a small compact camera that fits easily in a pocket or purse and feels great in your hand when taking photos or video. The LCD screen is large and great for previewing photos or video. Overall the Kodak EasyShare V705 gets a 5 of 5 for price, options, settings, video, photos, and pretty much everything being nearly flawless on this camera.
