Episode 3- The Big Blizzard

Doesn't the title of the episode make you want to curl up in front of your fire or snuggle up in your warm downy blankets? The ice road truckers are up against the time clock in this episode as a severe blizzard is forecasted. The truckers have to hurry and complete their deliveries before the roads are closed. Davey receives a distress call regarding a trucker who has run off the road and is stranded on the weakest part of the ice road. Our unlucky rookie, Drew, finally gets a chance to prove his worth when he's sent on his first ice road mission to deliver construction supplies for a hockey rink. As luck would have it, Rick falls ill and his partner riding along with him has to finish the run. Hugh's patience and mentoring skills are tested as he is put in charge of training newbie, John Blake, on how to operate a vac-truck. Hugh and John are successful at taking the refurbished vacuum tanker to Aput, a natural gas exploration site, for wastewater disposal. Rick has to wait on mechanical troubles to die down before he can get back on the road. Alex beats the clock by minutes after being delayed by a flat tire.

Episode 12- The Big Thaw

The worse thing about accumulating ice is that eventually it will melt causing water to rush through the cracks in the ice. This poses dangerous hazards for our ice road truckers and serious adventures along the way. Back at the Langley site, Jerry is rushing to clear the yard of all equipment. . The site's derrick is loaded onto two trucks, but the drivers encounter a serious break in the road. A pilot car is called in for assistance. Meanwhile, Bear has to call for help after his heavy load proves too be more than he could handle. Rick hauls a load of dirty snow from Mallik to Tuktoyaktuk. Lucky Hugh is delivering a standard sized load which means he can drive a whole lot faster than a majority of the men on the roads; he's hoping to beat Eric in load count. But by the end of the day, they are both tied for the most loads.

Episode 1-Edge of the Earth

Season 2 of Ice Road Truckers starts off with a bang. The year's transport season is under way and we're located on the dangerous ice roads of the Arctic Circle. The truckers are trekking on the brutal ice road from Inuvik to Tuktoyaktuk to deliver vital equipment associated with natural gas and mineral exploration projects in that area. We're re-introduced to four of the faces of Season 1: Alex, Hugh, Rick, and Drew. We're also introduced to some new faces this season. The adventure begins as Rick gets into an accident while on his way to rendezvous with Alex. When he finally arrives with the truck, the pair is placed in charge of delivering a boiler house and drilling mud tank to Mallik. What's a season without some mechanical failures? We see Eric struggling with his truck that needs transmission fluid. Since he's delayed, Hugh takes the shelter building instead which brews a head to head competition between the two throughout the season. Finally, Eric gets his truck back into commission and he is able to transport a derrick to the Mallik site. Meanwhile, Drew's luck hasn't gotten any better from the first season. Since he didn't bring the right cold-weather gear, he has to gather the appropriate equipment to face the severe conditions. And then he doesn't even have a working truck to use! Not surprisingly, he quits again, but since he's determined to garner the respect of the other truckers, he decides to come back.

Episode 6- Hundred Ton to Haul

Alex and Bear are placed in charge of transporting a huge 80-ton substructure. It's split between the two truckers, but its one of the heaviest loads to test the fragile ice roads. Unfortunately, we see Alex plagued with health issues which include fatigue and short breath. But after Alex gets some medical attention and is able to successfully complete the delivery. Hugh and Rick end up being booked to haul waste which gets under both men's skin. Hugh has to vacuum sewage while Rick hauls trash from Tuktoyaktuk to Inuvik. Rick isn't afraid to voice his opinions of where they can stick their garbage!

Episode 2-Mechanical Mayhem

Eric, Bear, and Hugh each separately deliver equipment to Mallik. After Drew quits, he ends up working for a local moving company. Rick returns to Inuvik with a load of classified Cold War equipment from a military post. On the way back to Inuvik, transporting contaminated soil, Alex spots emergency personnel attending to a flipped-over box truck. Drew falls ill once again. Rick suddenly stops on the ice road while taking some truck parts to Tuktoyaktuk. The problem is revealed to be a loss of engine oil. Unfortunately, he is delayed once again waiting for the new pan to be flown in.
