From colorful creatures to powerful predators, get up close and personal with some of Mother Nature's most untamed creations - on their own turf. With the help of the industry's most respected biologists, zoologists, and cinematographers, Wild scours the planet to bring you the most amazing and the most dangerous creatures on our wild planet.
The National Geographic channel is known for taking the viewers to uncharted lands and getting up close and personal with some of the most deadly species to roam the lands. This show does exactly that - it shows us the life of some of the most deadly species to walk, crawl, swim, and fly on our planet!
These are 5 episodes I find to be the most interesting.
Africa's Deadly Dozen
Africa's incredible array of creatures includes an elite group of 12 known for their deadly proficiency. These species range from scorpions to the surprisingly deadly buffalo to the king of Africa - the lion. You can witness their diverse weaponry and tactics as the National Geographic takes us through their lives. This episode is filmed strictly in Africa, and takes us through the African savannahs. I recommend this episode for anyone interested in the deadly animals of Africa!
Amazon's Deadly Dozen
This episode features the world's oldest rain forest. It is also the home to 12 of the most lethal creatures, from piranhas and electric eels to venomous snakes. We are taken through the lives of these deadly animals, which are quite brutal. This episode is quite similar to its African counterpart, but features animals that are quite different from each other. I recommend this episode for anyone that loves nature and natural beauty at its best since this episode definitely shows off the beauty of the Amazon!
America's Deadly Dozen
Once again this episode features a dozen different animals that call America their homes! Among the wild creatures that have roamed America for millennia is an elite group of animals, insects, and arachnids that are beautiful -- and highly dangerous. We may not think of America as being a deadly place in terms of animals, but you are in for a surprise as you take a look at these animals! I recommend this episode for anyone that travels America and needs some more interesting things to explore. It also features some locations that are quite beautiful.
Australia's Deadly Dozen
G'Day Mate! Welcome to the Aussie Outback! This episode is similar to its American counterpart, but features very unique animals that call the Aussie Outback their home. Australia, a continent unto itself, is home to scores of creatures found nowhere else in the world. Travel from the Great Barrier Reef to the Outback to see a dozen animals among the most deadly in the world. I recommend this episode to just about anyone since it features animals you probably will never see in your life in person!
Asia's Deadly Dozen
As the Wild series spans the world, they take a look at the Asian animal kingdom. Asia is home to some of the most unique species on this planet. Large and powerful predators stalk the snowy landscape in Siberia, and patrol the tropical waters of the Pacific. Ancient, armored creatures rule Asia's grasslands and wetlands. Deadly snakes strike from below, while cunning monkeys attack from above. And perhaps most impressive is the massive polar bear, the largest land based carnivore. They are remarkable animals, armed with massive jaws, venomous bites and impressive strength. I recommend this episode to anyone that enjoys watching a full spectrum of animals in one sitting!
There is no way to you can say that one episode is the best, but these 5 stand out as the best episodes of the series Wild on The National Geographic Channel!
