Catwoman - Michelle Pfeiffer, Batman Returns
Meowww...Come on, she fell out a window! Selina Kyle transformed from insecure secretary to slightly unhinged Catwoman. Did it improve her former pathetic little life? Not really. Is Catwoman a true villain? I think not. And while she can't get her claws around Batman, at least she's not bad with a whip. But she ends up alone, and I end up feeling sorry for Catwoman. And by the way, what about that outfit she wears? The catsuit looks like it was designed by a third-grader. The ears, the stitches...however, I have to admit, Halle Berry's leather catsuit is even more snicker worthy.
Gollum - Andy Serkis, Lord of the Rings
Gollum is small, looks hideous, displays absolute condemning behavior, but still, he so pathetic, I can't help but feel sorry for him. Seduced by the evilness of the ring, he turned from a friendly fellow, Smeagol, to what we know as Gollum. In the end, he ends up in the fire of Mordor, but at least he was the last ring bearer!
Dark Helmet - Rick Moranis, Spaceballs
Villains are generally feared, loathed, and hated. Some villains are even strong, tall and handsome. Rick Moranis as Dark Helmet, however, is nothing of the above. Instead Dark Helmet is short, no one takes him seriously, and he can't breathe inside his helmet. Even worse, he plays with dolls. If I wouldn't be so busy laughing, I would feel even more sorry for him.
Dr. Octopus, Alfred Molina, Spider-Man
How tragic is Dr. Octopus? Genius turns super-villain, because his experiment goes wrong. In the process, Dr. Octavius kills his beloved wife and finds himself with strange mechanical arms attached to his body. That sucks, for sure. And while Dr. Octavius battles for his sanity, the evil, artificial intelligence turns him into a mad-man. Not nice. In the end, he gives up his own life, saving the world from the evil he became. I truly feel sorry for him.
Dracula, Gary Oldman, Bram Stoker's Dracula
What do you mean, Dracula is a nasty bloodsucker? For me, Dracula is a passionate and romantic villain, who only occasionally creeps the hell out of me. Dracula is driven by love for beautiful, young Mina, played by Winona Ryder, who happens to chop Dracula's head off at the end of the movie. And Annie Lennox' "Love Song for a Vampire" is truly beautiful. I'll forever wish for a happy end between Dracula and Mina.

Post a CommentI kind of felt a little sorry for Buffy Villains and Angel Villains, Drusilla and Dark Willow and Glory, because even though they are evil, they are a bit sad, because they do have a bit of a human side to them still.
I agree with Dracula too.
