Top 5 Films Featuring Tom Cruise

Tylor Hoodjer
Tom Cruise has gotten a pretty bad reputation in the last decade or so, mostly due to his religious beliefs. As parents, we tell our children to look past a person's sex, creed, and religion. Why should this man be any different. Let us bask in the glory of a few cinematic treasures brought to us with Tom Cruise's help.

#1 The Last Samurai

This film is a heart wrenching tale of a country torn in two. Tom Cruise is at his best in this one and with an excellent supporting cast, should be labeled as one of the best films of 2003. Watch as an American war hero learns to embrace the seductive ways of the Samurai.

#2 Interview with the Vampire

Tom Cruise stars in this book turned film as the vampire Lestat. Brad Pitt is the main role in this film, but Tom Cruise does such an excellent job in his supporting role that I feel it is worth mentioning. If you haven't seen this vampire classic from the 90's you should definitely check it out.

#3 Top Gun

This film cemented Tom Cruise's career. It's a film about a fighter pilot that chooses to live on the edge, motivated by his father's memory and pure adrenaline. Anthony Edwards plays in, what I feel, is his most memorable role of all time. This film is a great one for anyone familiar with the 80's.

#4 Vanilla Sky

I fell in love with this during my endeavor to watch any and all strange films. It's a story about a man that is disabled by a woman (Cameron Diaz) that has a jealous love Tom Cruise's character. While this may not be his best performance, I love the story that this film portrays. I wish more movies like this one would be released.

#5 Valkyrie

Tom Cruise plays the unlucky Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg in this film based on true events during WWII. A plot to assassinate Hitler from the German military is a very dangerous task, but several officers are brave enough to attempt what is seemingly impossible. You will not be disappointed with this epic WWII tale that is only surpassed by Schindler's List.

How are Minority Report, The Color of Money, and Risky Business not on this list? Terrible.
