Top 5 Fuel Efficient Hybrids for 2010

There are many new cars coming out for the year 2010 and many claim to have the best fuel efficiency. Almost every car commercial says that they have great gas mileage, or are wonderful for the environment, but make sure to do your research and pick the new car for what you want it to be, not what they want you to purchase.

If you are interested in fuel efficient hybrids, then this article is for you. I am listing the top five fuel efficient hybrids that are debuting for the 2010 model year.

Starting at number 5, the 2010 Toyota Camry Hybrid boasts 33 MPG city and 34 MPG highway. It has a 17.2 gallon fuel tank, and the MSRP is $26,150. This vehicle is good if you prefer the Prius, but need a bit more space. The Prius is nice, but the Camry Hybrid is a full size car for the larger families. At Number 4 we introduce the 2010 Honda Insight. It resembles the Toyota Prius, but is actually a Honda. It boasts as being the least expensive hybrid for the 2010 model year. It has many features that make it a 'green' car, other than just being a hybrid. To view the specifics on the model, click this link: http://www.newcars.com/honda/insight/index.html . The MSRP is $19,800 to $21,300. The estimated mileage is 40 MPG city and 43 MPG highway. It has a 10.6 gallon fuel tank.

The 2010 Mercury Milan Hybrid joins the count at number three, boasting 41 MPG city and 36 MPG highway on a 17.5 gallon fuel tank. Its MSRP is $27,855. This vehicle also boasts that you can get up to 700 miles on a single tank of gas if you cruise on electricity alone at 47 mph. That sounds nice, but not many freeways are that low on speeds! Coming in 2nd is the 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid. This car resembles the Mercury Milan Hybrid as a full size car. Its 41 MPG city and 36 MPG highway make it best in its class for fuel efficiency, compared to the Chevy Malibu Hybrid and the Camry Hybrid. And the winner for the 2010 model is (drum roll please) the Toyota Prius. This car is the best hybrid on the market and can beat any car in any class for fuel efficiency. Many people are impressed with this car and it is highly popular, not only for the fuel efficiency and the 'green' aspect, but also because it is a snazzy little car. Many people love that it has great pick up and has matured since the first Prius debuted. It boasts 51 MPG city and 48 MPG highway. The fuel tank is 11.9 gallons, and the MSRP is $22,000 to $27,270. Nice write up! A friend of mine has the Camry Hybrid and they love it. Another friend has a Prius, and she is equally thrilled with her car. Hybrids are really staking a claim in mainstream America.

Since they are going to take clunkers again - this just might be the way to go.

They stopped taking clunkers for cash, so I'll have to make do for now... but these look like great cars to own! :)
