Top 5 Funniest Comedy Movies Coming to Theaters in 2011: Upcoming Comedies that Will Make You Laugh

The Funniest Movies of 2011

I wish I could say that there is going to be a ton of great comedies coming to theaters this year, but the selection for 2011 looks a lot like the most anticipated comedies of 2010 did. The cupboard of comedy movies this year looks a little bare. I love slapstick comedies, and although I'm disappointed by the overall selection of funny flicks this year, there a still a few that I am highly anticipating. Here are the top five most anticipated comedies of 2011. The best comedy of 2011 coming to the theaters shouldn't surprise any movie buff.

5. Horrible Bosses - Ever get mad at your boss? Sure, we all have. You know what we all haven't done? Think about killing our bosses. Hmm... scratch that. We haven't come up with an entire well-thought-out strategy to kill our bosses though, now have we? Jennifer Aniston, Jamie Fox, Colin Farrell, Kevin Spacey and Jason Bateman all star in this September 20th comedy where three friends conspire to do just that.

4. A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas - John Cho and Kal Penn bring the lovable slapstick comedy pals Harold and Kumar back to the movie theaters. Harold and Kumar 3 comes to theaters October 25th and takes place six years after they escaped from Guantanamo Bay. Anybody else thinking they know what the stoner pals were up to when they accidentally burnt down Harold's father-in-law's Christmas tree.

3. Hall Pass - This is a slapstick comedy brought to you by the Farelly Brothers which means it is either going to be one of the best comedy movies of 2011, or it is going to be one of the dumbest flicks of the year. Personally, I will give the guys that brought us "There's Something About Mary" the benefit of the doubt. It also shouldn't be surprising with a movie coming from the Farelly Brothers that even though the comedy's title is "Hall Pass," the movie has nothing to do with school whatsoever. The pass that this movie is talking about is one that a lot of married men wish they would receive and barely any wife would ever grant. Owen Wilson is offered a week off from his marriage, which means that he can do anything he wants and not be held accountable for it. Maybe he should wonder what his wife Jenna Fischer will be up to during the week away. This is the perfect movie for any guy that is romanced out from Valentine's Day since it comes to the theaters on February 25th.

2. The Dilemma - I'm going to be honest; the fact that this comedy comes out on January 15th is a bit scary to me. This is obviously not a time when to many great movies come to movie theatres. With those worries aside, the cast includes Kevin James, Vince Vaughn, Winona Ryder, Channing Tatum, Jennifer Connelly and Queen Latifah. It sounds kind of hard to go horribly wrong with all of them in there. Plus, the simple story idea of whether or not to tell a friend something you know will crush them is a solid base to let the comedy roll from.

1. The Hangover 2 - You ever get really super excited about something, but feel like you are just setting yourself up for disappointment? That is how I feel about the May 26th release of the Hangover Part II. There is just so little information out there about this much-anticipated sequel that it scares me a bit. What the movie does promise is that stars Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms will all be back. Sorry guys, no Heather Graham. You will have to settle for Jamie Chung and Juliette Lewis.
