New Futurama Episodes Return on Comedy Central

David Leavitt
Futurama is one of the most beloved, raunchy, and funniest cartoon series of all time. Futurama will make a triumphant return to television on Comedy Central in June 2010 after being canceled for several years with new Futurama episodes. Anyone who is a fan of Family Guy who hasn't seen Futurama will undoubtedly love it. Here are the Top 5 Futurama Episodes, the five best Futurama episodes every fan must watch. These great Futurama Episodes certainly will not dissapoint you.

Top 5 Futurama Episodes - #5, Season 5, Episode 8: The Why of Fry

Synopsis:

In The Why of Fry, Fry becomes jealous and utterly depressed when Chaz, the Mayer's Aid, takes Leela out for a date. When Nibbler talks and kidnaps Fry back to his home planet ("inconceivable dimensions not shown"), Fry learns that his "past-nastification" is what makes him the "only one immune to the brains" and that the fate of the universe is in his hands. After accepting his fate, Fry learns the true secret of how he came to the future.

Why The Why of Fry is one of the Top 5 Futurama Episodes

The Why of Fry draws upon multiple episodes of Futurama's past to deliver delicious slapstick humor. It is also a classic example of some of the greatest dialogue in the entire Futurama series, making it one of the best Futurama Episodes.

Top 5 Futurama Episodes - #4, Season 4, Episode 3: Anthology of Interest 2

Synopsis:

In Anthology of Interest 2, the professor has fixed the What If machine. Bender asks what would happen if he was a human, Fry asks to see the world as a video game, and Leela asks to fine her real home. "Why didn't anybody tell me tasty things tasted so good?!?" - Bender

Why Anthology of Interest 2 is one of the Top 5 Futurama Episodes

Anthology of Interest 2 is one of the best Futurama episodes because it packs three amazing vinnets into one episode. Whereas a normal episode of Futurama may have a stale part, each of the three stories is short and sweet. It also contains what a fantastic Wizard of Oz parody, and delivers it in less than six minutes, making it one of the top 5 Futurama episodes. Need I say more?

Top 5 Futurama Episodes - #3, Futurama: Bender's Big Score

Synopsis:

In Futurama: Bender's Big Score, the Planet Express crew is unwittingly suckered in by spammers who take over the company. Bender notices a tattoo of himself on Fry's butt cheek that contains the secret of time travel.

Why Bender's Big Score is one of the Top 5 Futurama Episodes

Bender's Big Score delivers hilarious dialogue and punch after punch of classic Futurama humor that fans of the cancelled series have come to embrace with open arms. Although Bender's Big Score is technically a movie and not an episode, it was the first of several direct to dvd Futurama movies that were popular enough to warrant Futurama's triumphant return to television with new Futurama episodes in June 2010, which is why it warrants its spot of number 3 on this list of the top 5 Futurama episodes.

Top 5 Futurama Episodes - #2, Season 4, Episode 12: Where No Fan Has Gone Before

Synopsis:

In Where No Fan Has Gone Before, the crew of Planet Express are put on trial for going to the "forbidden planet of Omega 3" to rescue the original Star Trek episodes. On the planet they encounter Mellvar, an energy being who claims to be "Star Trek's biggest fan."

Why Where No Fan Has Gone Before is one of the Top 5 Futurama Episodes

Where No Fan Has Gone Before is perhaps the greatest Star Trek parody of all time, and that alone makes it one of the best Futurama Episodes. Fans of the original Star Trek series will be delighted to hear William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Walter Koenig, George Takei, Nichelle Nicholes, and Jonathan Frakes perform voice overs for themselves. What can be funnier than listening to the original cast of Star Trek say funny lines mocking themselves?

Top 5 Futurama Episodes - #1, Season 4, Episode 1: Roswell That Ends Well

Synopsis:

When the Planet Express crew takes their ship out to watch a supernova star explode, and Fry microwaves a metal container of popcorn, the gang ends up crashing back in time - to Roswell, New Mexico in 1974 where Fry's grandfather is, all hilarity ensues.

Why Roswell That Ends Well one of the Top 5 Futurama Episodes

Roswell That Ends Well kicked off season four with a giant bang. Almost every scene in Roswell That Ends Well makes viewers laugh, earning it the number one spot in this list of the top 5 Futurama episodes. What makes Roswell That Ends Well one of the best Futurama episodes is the sheer number of puns and jokes, one right after the other. Roswell That Ends Well has some of Dr. Zoidberg's best Futurama quotations the entire series.

Fans of any Star Trek episode that features time travel will love Roswell That Ends Well because of paradoxes. "You mustn't interfere with the past. Don't do anything that affects anything. Unless it turns out that you were supposed to do it, in which case for the love of god don't not do it!" - The Professor.

Dude, I am a huge Futurama Fan and all of your episodes are worthy. I'm not crazy about the one-offs that followed after the series' demise (like Bender's Big Score), but still a great list. When you get a chance check out my review of Season 4 DVD: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2872838/why_i_heart_futurama_a_review_of_season.html?cat=2
