Pam Parent
Often, concept cars never make it into production, but most likely a special design feature from the car will be incorporated into a newly released model. Practicality and cost are the main reasons that kill plans to put a concept car into production. I choose the following concept cars for this article because of their futuristic and exotic detailing.

Gigliato Aerosa Concept Car

In 1997, the Gigliato Design Company teamed with Lamborghini to design an exotic car. The Gigliato was introduced to the public at the 1997 Geneva Auto Show. The price for this concept car was estimated to be $65,000, which is considered affordable for an exotic car. Unfortunately, plans failed and this prototype concept car never went into production.

Lotus M250 Concept Car

The M250 was designed by the Lotus Company. This futuristic concept car was debuted at the Frankfurt Auto Show. The Lotus M250 was in the ready stages of development, and the company started taking orders and deposits for this concept car. The company later returned the deposits and canceled orders because of the inability for this concept car to fit into the global marketplace, and meet American safety standards.

Aqua-car: SQuba Diving Concept Car

The Swiss Automotive Design Company, Rinspeed, designed a concept car that could go from land to water. This car was said to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2008. This concept car is powered by an electric motor, and has rear jet drives for underwater cruising. This concept car can go from land to water with a push of a button.

Nissan Pivo Concept Car

The pod-shaped Pivo was created by Nissan. This concept car debuted at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show. This futuristic, eco-friendly concept car has a cabin that revolves 360 degrees. This car also features Nissan's Around View Technology. This technology greatly enhances visibility, and reduces dangerous blind spots. This concept car is an example of what electric cars may look like in the future.

TVR Cerbera Speed 12 Concept Car

TVR designed the Cerbera Speed 12 concept car. TVR's goal was to make this one of the world's highest performance road cars. Unfortunately, the designers ran into problems when developing this concept car. They decided it wouldn't be appropriate used as a road car, and also the demand was limited for this concept car.
