1. Olive Garden: This is perfect for the person who loves to dine in at a semi-fancy restaurant, and happens to enjoy Italian food. I've looked into this gift card, too, and apparently, Olive Garden and Red Lobster are owned by the same company, and can be used interchangeably at either restaurant. I've also seen gift cards at Wal-Mart that feature both on the card itself, and make it clear, if you don't feel like reminding people of that.
2. Golden Corral: Every once in a while, diners enjoy a good buffet. Depending on where you live, your Golden Corral can be amazing, or huge disappointment. Where I live in Virginia, both Lynchburg's and Roanoke's Golden Corrals are amazing. The former one in Bedford was terrible. So, be sure the one near the person you want to give the gift card to, is up to par. If it's all good, then this is a great gift card to give to someone who likes buffets.
3. McDonald's: Whether your gift recipient likes fast food or is forced to grab it on the go, chances are, they stop at McDonald's once or a couple of times a month. From their fatty burgers and fries, to their not-so-bad chicken sandwiches and salads, there's something for everyone on the go. McDonald's gift certificates are a safe bet for a diner on the go... unless they're vegetarian or extremely health conscious.
4. Subway: Even though it's still considerably fast food, Subway at least has the option of eating healthier. Load it with at least $25, and your recipient can get five $5 footlongs, or maybe even three or four 6-inch sub meals. I know it's perfect for the kind of diner I am.
5. Sheetz: Some people, like myself, stop to get gas and something to eat. Sheetz is the perfect place to get breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even just a snack, with its "Made To Order" service inside. If you load a Sheetz card with enough money, your recipient can eat and get gas in one fell swoop.
These restaurant gift card ideas are for my taste in restaurants and food. Feel free to change it up for your gift recipient, and even see if your local restaurants have gift cards or certificates.
