Top 5 Halloween Costumes for Toddler Girls

Tinker Bell, Snow White, Cinderella, Dora the Explorer and a Princess Ballerina Costumes

Halloween is a great time for not only adults and kids, but for toddlers, too. This gives the little ones a chance to go out and play like a big kid, but still be little. They get to dress up and dance around in their costumes and get a treat, too.

The newest trend for little girls is Disney Fairies. I know this because my little girl (17 months) loves Tinker Bell. Everywhere you look, you see Disney Fairies toys and even costumes. You can purchase Tinker Bell's entire costume at Walmart.com. You can also purchase a pattern at your local JoAnn Fabric store. The pattern is $15.95 (they are usually 40% off) and you can make it yourself. The pattern comes with all the fairies, so if your little one likes Iridessa or Rosetta, all you would need to do is change the colors. These costumes are rather light on the fabric, so you will want to have the little ones wear a long sleeve onsie or shirt and white tights to keep their little bodies warm. These costumes are very 'earthy' and no specific hairstyle is needed. No need of wands or tiaras, either.

Little girls love princesses. Disney Princesses are always very popular. Snow White and Cinderella are the most popular of all of the princesses. You can find Snow White and Cinderella at Walmart.com, too. The costumes are around $20.00 each. Most of the costumes come with all the accessories you will need, but to add to it, you can always go to the toy section and see what other accessories they have. Snow White would need a black wig, and Cinderella would need a blonde one. If your child is not comfortable wearing a wig, then a simple red headband for Snow white and a nice tiara for Cinderella would be just fine. Make sure that the shoes they wear are not the toy/dress up ones. They are not safe for walking around, especially at night! Sneakers will do just fine for trick or treating.

Dora the Explorer has been on TV for years, but never seems to lose popularity. My son used to watch it when he was a toddler and liked it. Over the years I have seen plenty of little Doras coming to my door in search of candy and treats. If your little explorer wants to be Dora, or any of the little characters from the show, click here. This site has a few different costume versions of Dora and also Boots the Monkey and even Swiper the Fox! These costumes have all the accessories, including wigs and Backpack, so there is no need to purchase extras. If you prefer to make it, then click here for details from eHow.com.

Little girls love to dress up and dance. If your little girl loves being a princess, and loves to dance, then this popular costume is for them. It is an adorable mix of both a princess and a ballerina. I have seen many of these (but different styles) come to my house, and also out trick or treating. It is an adorable way for your little toddler to express herself in a costume that doesn't have heavy clothing or too many accessories. Click here to view the costume. You can purchase it online, or you can make it yourself using some of her clothes and toys from her toy box. If you purchase it, you will need to get a tiara and a wand separately.

There you have it; five popular toddler costumes for girls. Any one of these is bound to please even the finickiest of toddlers. Remember to stay safe and not have long gowns that can trip the little ones, or have too many accessories that will distract the kids from their main objective- having a fun (and safe) Halloween!
