ABC Family's 13 Nights of Halloween:
ABC Family is having its 11th Annual "13 Nights of Halloween" starting October 19. While looking at the lineup for this year and comparing it to great Halloween shows here in the past, I am a little disappointed. I won't give up yet, as their picks this year may turn out great. I'm happy to see Tim Burton movies being shown! On their press release, the lineup will include Halloween episodes of America's Funniest Home Videos, The Goonies, Beetlejuice, Adam's Family, The Mask, Hocus Pocus, Casper Meets Wendy, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, Edward Scissorhands, The Haunted Mansion, Scooby Doo, and Batman. While many of those listed don't seem to be scary enough for Halloween, I can see how they relate to costume themes and candy. 13 Nights of Halloween is a good family lineup that everyone can sit and watch together
AMC Fear Fest 2009
AMC's Fear Fest usually takes place the week before Halloween. It is certainly one of the best horror movie marathons leading up to Halloween! AMC's Fear Fest shows such movies as Frankenstein, Christine, Pet Sematary, Nightmare on Elm Street, plus other horror classics. You can check Fear Fest's website for specific scheduling when it's released. Not only will Fear Fest be on TV but you can also catch movies online on their website too.
TCM Thrillers & Mad Scientists
TCM's October 30th schedule shows a night of "Psychological Thrillers". Starting at 8pm, watch Gaslight, Night Must Fall, Psycho, Zaat, and Swamp Thing at 3:45am. Then on Halloween night, turn on TCM Channel to watch a movie marathon with mad scientists. Beginning at 8pm, you can watch Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Murders in the Zoo, The Body Snatcher, Circus of Horrors, and the Son of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
Nick's Shocktober
Shocktober is one of my favorite family-friendly Halloween series and movie marathons. Tune into Nickelodeon Channels in October for a different cool spooky treat. Last year they played El Tigre: The Grave Escape, iCarly: iScream for Halloween, and Roxy Hunter: The Mystery of the Moody Ghost. Check Nick's website and your local listings for schedules.
The Travel Channel
On Halloween, the Travel Channel serves up a marathon of scary, bizarre-themed shows very fitting for Halloween. Some shows to expect include America's Scariest Halloween Attractions, Haunted Travels, ghost adventures, etc. For a detailed listing of The Travel Channel's Halloween lineup, keep a check on your local schedule guide or their website.
