Halloween night is fast approaching, and for us horror movie fans it's the greatest night of the year. Halloween gives us horror lovers the excuse we need to invite some people over, pop some popcorn, dim the lights and prepare to terrify our friends as we watch one of the anxiously awaited all night horror movie fests which are offered by various channels on television. And there are many of them playing this year.
If you one who prefers to stay home on Halloween night and have the whole family scared and screaming on the couch as you watch one insane movie after another. Then you may want to catch the Halloween scare fest being offered by the SyFy Channel this October the 31st. SyFy will be featuring its annual 13 Days Of Halloween beginning October 19th and continuing through Halloween night. They will be showing such favorites as Resident Evil, (my personal favorite) Jeepers Creeper and Queen Of The Damned. They'll even be showing a few of the cheesy B film movies like, From Dusk Til Dawn 2. SyFy ends the 13 day Scare fest on All Hallows Eve with the showing of Night Of The Living Dead, Thirteen Ghosts and a Ghosthunters marathon.

If you're looking for something a little less terrifying and a lot more entertaining then you might want to consider catching the Halloween movie fest on ABC Family. Who will also be airing their annual 13 nights of Halloween. During this 13 night time frame they will be airing a series of 20 movies that have been specially chosen with the kids in mind. Movies like Beetlejuice with Michael Keaton, The Corpse Bride and the movie that made everyone afraid of clowns, Stephen Kings, It. And of course for those in the family who like their movies with a little more scare and gore they'll also be showing movies like An American Haunting and Boogeyman. On Halloween night Cinemax will also be offering up a day filled with screams and freights with their day of Halloween classics like Bram Stokers Dracula which airs at 8:45 A.M. Followed by Ghost In The Machine, Crow 2, Full Eclipse, The Serpent And The Rainbow by Wes Craven, The Devils Advocate, The Exorcist and Dead Again. This is an all day Halloween horror movie fest that will get your family through Halloween night with all the frights and scares they crave. Not looking to be outdone on one of the most important nights of the year, Turner Classic Movies will also be airing a special day of horror movies on Halloween. TCM is known for their old, black and white classics so be expecting a few Bela Lugosi, Christopher Lee and Vincent Price films. TCM begins their day of horror with The Bat, followed by White Zombie written by (who else?) Bela Lugosi. This is followed by the cult classic Invasion Of The Body Snatchers. Alfred Hitchcock follows Mr. Lugosi with the Birds and the infamous Psycho. Poltergeist, A 1963 version of The Haunting and a Christopher Lee classic, Castle of the Living Dead caps off this interesting night of horror.

AMC will be featuring a Halloween scarefest beginning on October 22nd and lasting a total of 4 terrifying days. This frightfest features such films as The Birds and Psycho written by Hitchcock, John Carpenters The Fog, Children Of The Corn, Scream 3 and Halloween. And for the kids ( and some adults) who may not like being scared out of their wits, Cartoon Network will be doing their version of a Halloween scarefest with an all day schedule of animated programming from 6 a.m. until 11p.m. Monday October 30th, cartoon network gets the kids ready for Halloween with a 4 and a half hour marathon of the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. And on Halloween the fun begins at 1 p.m. with a scheduled 9 and a half hours of children's programming including, caspers scare school, ed, edd, and eddy boo hee haw, the haunted pumpkin of sleepy hallow and a scary godmothers spooktacular. With tons of interesting and scary programming you're almost guaranteed to find a day of movies during the Halloween season that everyone will love.
