Halloween movies abound in the fall it seems that just about every one likes a good scare. Most of the popular Halloween horror movies are not appropriate for little eyes but there are some good Halloween movies for kids. The top five Halloween movies listed below are for elementary aged kids who can take a little bit of a scare. We wouldn't want preschoolers having nightmares from watching these movies.

These kid friendly Halloween movies can be used in several ways. Spooky Halloween kids movies can be shown at a scary Halloween Party. The Halloween fun movies could be shown at school in a classroom or as a reward movie. One of these Halloween movies could be shown on a big screen during a fall festival. You could even use the Halloween movies to show to kids at a sleepover near Halloween.

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown: This movie is often times shown on TV around Halloween and is rated G so anyone could watch this movie. Charlie Brown and the other Peanuts gang get their Halloween costumes on and go out for tricks or treats and a Halloween Party. Linus and Sally miss out on the treats because Linus is waiting in the pumpkin patch for the Great Pumpkin. This is a classic Halloween movie that many people own on DVD.

Monster House: The movie Monster House available on DVD is rated PG. This movie is a little scarier than the other Halloween movies. The house across the street is actually a monster. The neighborhood kids know the house is a monster but no adults will believe them. The kids and owner decide to destroy the Monster House and action ensues.

Haunted Mansion: This Halloween movie was based on the Haunted Mansion ride at Disney world. A realtor played by Eddie Murphy is called to appraise the Haunted Mansion. He brings his family along and they discover that ghosts haunt the Mansion and they try to escape.

Monsters Inc: Many celebrities used their voice talent for this animated Halloween movie. Monsters Inc. is a movie about how monsters scare children at night and use their screams for electricity. Two monsters befriend a human child and discover that the child's laughter is more powerful than her screams.

Casper: This Halloween movie is similar to the cartoons named Casper the Friendly Ghost. This movie is rated PG and there is drinking, theft and talk of murder and suicide. Casper falls in love and learns that he might be able to turn back into a boy.
