Top 5 Halloween Movies to Watch with the Family

It's easy to find a horror movie to watch. Throughout the Halloween season they're on just about every cable channel. These movies are full of gore and violence. They were not meant to be viewed by children. Some children enjoy watching scary movies and getting scared. If your child is one of them, check out the movie yourself first to see if it's appropriate.

Family Halloween movies are a bit harder to find. There are some out there, but they don't get the same publicity as the horror films do. Here are some movies you can watch with your kids. I hope you can make some time this season to enjoy them.

It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown is one of our all time favorites. It is a cartoon, but it's a classic. Charlie Brown and the peanuts gang are just the ones you want your kids to spend Halloween with. Charlie Brown and his friends all have plans on Halloween. Linus, on the other hand, plans to spend the night in the pumpkin patch. He's waiting for the Great Pumpkin to come. The others tease him and try to change his mind. Linus won't budge. He's sure that The Great Pumpkin will come. He ends up spending the night cold and alone int the pumpkin patch again.

Casper is next on the list of films to watch. It's cute, scary and funny all in one. Casper, the friendly ghost, lives in a mansion with his three mean uncles. A ghost therapist is hired to live there and get rid of these pesky ghosts. Casper make friends with the therapist's daughter. The other ghosts keep trying to scare them away. This movie is funny and full of ghosts and pranks. Watch it to see who chases who away.

The Haunted Mansion is just what the names says. A family trying to get away for a weekend trip gets trapped by a storm in a haunted mansion. At first they don't believe in ghosts, but after some strange things happen they believe. Will they ever get out of the mansion alive? Will the ghosts ever leave the mansion? Watch it to see what happens. We enjoyed this movie very much. It's a great mix of scary and funny. Our whole family liked it.

Hocus Pocus is a great movie about three witches from Salem, Massachusetts. They were hung 300 years ago. They are accidentally brought back to life one Halloween night. The three witches cause mischief all over the town. They search to regain their youth and stay alive. Meanwhile three children are trying to catch them and banish them once and for all. This action packed movie is fun and entertaining.

The Nightmare Before Christmas is a movie about a place called Halloween Town. The main character Jack Skellington finds out about Christmas town. He quickly becomes intrigued with Christmas . He has Santa Claus kidnapped and tries to take over his job. Meanwhile, Sally the rag doll is watching Jack and falling in love. You have to watch this movie to believe it. I've heard the Corpse Bride is great too. These movies are very unique and a little bit scary.
